SAMMYS POV

>•>•>

{5 years later}
March 3rd 2014. that was the day Alyssa passed away. turn's out she was intoxicated and upset, which i completely understand why she did what she did that day. anyways, it's been 5 years. yes 5 lonely, depressing, and dreadful years. her mom told me about how her grandmother wrote a letter for alyssa. she gave it to me & told me to keep it in a safe place.

well speaking of alyssa's mom, after she and her husband divorced they both went their separate ways. alyssa's mom moved to Flordia but she kept this old house, she gave me two keys to the house by the way. they removed everything from alyssa's room ; all the decorations, small pictures hanging on the wall, her bed and dresser, just everything.

but on a brighter note, today alyssa would of turned 22 years-old. so i planned a little something for today. i went on and bought some of her favorite lunch meals along with one marble cupcake. as i arrived at the old house with multiple bags in my both of my hands, i unlock the door and walk up to alyssa's room.

i opened the curtains and took out some Chinese noodles, a marble cupcake, the letter that her grandmother left her, and some pictures of alyssa. "hey baby girl" i start off looking at her picture. "ya know i really miss you, well everyone does" i stop and take a deep breathe. "wow this is harder than i thought. i never got a chance to explain what happened, but that's in the terrible past."

"i brought you some of your favorite noodles from Panda Garden, and i brought you a mini cake. well cupcake actually" i breathe out a laugh. "well i want to wish you a happy birthday, so might as well sing you the birthday song. Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday dear Alyssa.
Happy birthday to you." my eyes start tearing up,i breathe out a shaking breath. stare at the picture of alyssa when she fell asleep and i took a picture of her.

"i remember this day, that was the day you forced me to watch The Notebook with you. we cuddled for so long you fell asleep in my arms, so i fixed your arms and took a picture of you. you looked like an angel. i know you passed away young and recklessly but you will forever be my angel." tears start falling from my eyes.

"oh and remember that letter your grandmother left for you? well your mom gave it to me and told me to keep it in a safe place. don't worry i haven't read it yet. and i was thinking of reading it to you today, my little gift to you." i take the paper off the floor and unwrap the envelope carefully. "it says" i take a deep breathe.

"dear Alyssa, i know my time has come to an end. but that doesn't mean that i will be forgotten. as long as you always think of me and never forget, i will always be by your side no matter what. i remember when you were little, you always wanted to come with me everywhere i went."

+

"it was either the grocery store or the mall or just to go to the post office. you were always by my side, now i will always be by yours. just remember that god has a plan for all of us, it can be good or it can be bad. but we'll never know, he never tells anyone what he has in store for us."

+

"Alyssa, i want you to never second guess yourself. always stick to your first choice and don't turn around to change your mind. also i think that sammy boy will be good for you. he seems like a nice boy and if he doesn't treat you right then slap him. for the fact you deserve the best, your such a one-of-a-kind type of girl. no one should pick you up and throw you aways like your trash."

+

"sweetie stay strong, stay beautiful. and stay humble. never forget i love you very much. i hope you have a wonderful life, with much love. -Grandma xoxo" by now i'm crying. Alyssa didn't deserve to feel like trash. she was a very humble and caring person, never did she once think of her self first.

with that, i stand up and gather all my things. but something catches my attention, it's a small paper sticking from under a mat. i pick it up it says 'To: No one in particular  From: Alyssa' i slowly open up the letter. she wrote it. Alyssa wrote this for me, i think.

it says, "Dear, No One i love you all so much. i lived my amazing life and now, i just go where the wind takes me. to my mom, thank you for being the best mother any daughter can ask for. to my dad, i give you credit for setting the rules for me and never letting me give up on anything."

+

"to my grandma, thank you for being my all time best friend you mean so much to me. to my extended relatives, i know i wasn't close to all of you but my love for everyone single one of you is still very strong. lastly to sammy, you will forever have a special place in my heart that no one will ever replace ; i forgive you for everything, i don't want you to think i hated you because i never did. so i appreciate everyone single one of you. i love you all very much. -Alyssa xoxo."

i never thought she would ever write that. now, i feel complete. i love Alyssa and she loves me just as much. i can live with that. i fold the paper back up and stuff it in my pocket and walk out. "i love you Alyssa forever and always."
