Chapter 17

Chase's Point Of View

Leo opened the door to the car and stepped on the white pavement. I watched as he walked around the car greeting a person with a white cloak and a sword in his hand. Leo motioned for me to follow him as he shook the person's hand and started to walk foreword. I looked into the back seat and seen Aliza still sleeping peacefully. I opened my door and stepped out. I opened the back door and grabbed Aliza following Leo into the city. White could describe things perfectly. White buildings, white trees, white animals, etc. A large building was sitting ahead. Nobody was around the building. The only thing that surrounded the building was a large glowing white portal like object that covered about 10 feet of land on each side of the building. Leo walked up to the building and in an instance he was gone. I screamed his name as I walked up to the building. I was about a foot away from the portal. Aliza was grasped out of my arms and was flung through the portal like object. My heart was racing. The portal like object was closing. I debated in my head whether to jump through the portal or not. At the very last minute my body flung through the portal like object. I was soon through the portal and I was I the middle of a dark room. The room was lit revealing the 5 black coats dead on the floor and Leo standing in the corner out of breath. I fell to the floor as I seen Aliza had been struck by a black coat.

"Leo we need to get Aliza to the hospital before her body is overtaken by the poison"

"Go take her. I'll stay behind. I have some business I need to finish"

I didn't argue as I didn't need to seeing Leo had already disappeared into the portal. I looked down at Aliza her face becoming pale. I raced down the white marble path, passing people and building. The hospital was the only building in the city that was not fully white. The building was 6 stories and was white with a Red Cross. I ran through the doors nurses rushing with a stretch taking Aliza. They rushed her through a set of doors that contained four words: Nurses and Doctors Only.

My head raced as I paced back and forth in the waiting room. Thoughts rushed my mind: did I get here in time, only if I went through the portal sooner I could have stopped all this.

A doctor came through the doors walking up to me. "We successful stopped the poison from running through the rest of her body. The poison had already attacked her body so much she's gone into a coma. She should wake up in a day, but if she doesn't we will take her off life support. You are able to see her though, she's in room 364 on level 4."

I thanked the doctor and walked my way through a set of doors that led me through a hallway and to the elevators. I walked into the elevator pressing the little button that had a number 4. The elevators doors closed and started going up. The light passed from one to four. The elevator dinged as the doors opened. The hallway was long and smelled of cleaning materials and hand sanitizer. I walked left down the hallway finding the door at the end of the hallway. I walked in to see Aliza laying on the white hospital bed, her face was deadly pale. She had a large red scar that was slashed across her chest from the Black Coats. I pulled a chair up to the bed placing a hand on Aliza's forehead. I placed my hand in hers, tears dripping from my eyes and onto Aliza's hand. A knock on the door made me stand to my feet startled by the noise. Anger rushed through me as I seen my father standing there.

"Son it is so good to see you after all these years."

My father said as he rubbed his hand along the gun that was in his hand.

"So, I see you've fallen for the girl. Need I remind you, you're her 'protector' not her boyfriend. You should have come with me when you had the chance. You have gotten to caught up in this mortal world. You have a day to choose, choose the girl and lose the powers you posses or choose to be part of the Black Coat and have your powers be strengthened. You could be so powerful. You have a day."

Before I could answer my father was out the door and Aliza started gasping for breath. I ran to the side of her bed yelling for a nurse as I squeezed her hand. Aliza soon started to breath once doctors was on a breathing treatment. Her eyes were wide with terror and complete shock. She stared dead ahead not even acknowledging my presence in the room.

She screamed when she looked my way not noticing I was in the room. Her scream startled me scaring the crap out of me.

"Damn, Aliza what was that for."

She chuckled when she realized she scared me.

"Where am Chase, The last thing I remember was see you talking to..... HIM."

Aliza said pointing to the door where Leo was standing. His arms was drenched with blood causing Aliza to freak out.

"Umm, well Aliza this is Leo, umm your, well your father."
