It was like she was trapped in her own body but couldn't get out. Brigid could hear everything that was happening around her, but when she tried to open her eyes or respond... Nothing.
She felt Clarke and Rory tending to her wounds, making sure that she didn't have a concussion. She also heard the worry in Clarke's voice as they were talking about saving Finn. He had gotten stabbed by the grounder, you could say that Brigid was the lucky one. If Finn weren't there in front of her, it probably would have been her.
Bellamy was up there checking on her frequently. Well more along the lines of when he wasn't fighting with his sister or worrying about the grounders. She just liked to know that he did, indeed, care about her. Miller and the others came up every so often, but didn't want to crowd her while she was healing.
Brigid's eyes finally drifted open, fluttering her eyelashes and glancing around the room. Only Nate was located in the corner of the room. She heard commotion from downstairs so she sat up, but Miller pushed her back down quickly. "Woah easy, Little Miss I'm-on-a-mission."
Her head was still pounding and she sucked in a sharp breath, snapping her eyes closed. She leaned her head in her hands and took a deep breath, "What the hell happened? How long have I been out?"
"A couple of hours at most," He answered, propping his feet up on the table across from them and folding his arms across his stomach. She rubbed her head, "You were attacked by a grounder. Well that's all I got out of Bellamy, he talks fast when he's worried."
She nodded her head, pushing her feet onto the ground. She glanced around the room,"Where is Bellamy?" She turned around in her seat to look over at her best friend.
"They're back!" Someone screamed from the lower level and Brigid stood up to see what all the commotion was. But Miller snatched her arm in his hand and pulled her back, "It must be Bellamy and the other guys. They went to go get the grounder, to question him."
She licked her chapped lips and nodded her head eagerly, "To question him, huh? Well I get first dibs. That damn attractive bastard almost gave me a concussion."
She climbed down the ladder, despite Miller's pleas to stay upstairs and rest. She looked down and laying in the center of the floor was the grounder that knocked her unconscious. "Brigid! Come back," Miller trailed after her, but she pushed her way to the front.
Bellamy's dark eyes caught the mass of red hair and pale skin in the crowded room. He rolled his eyes making his way over to her, "Shouldn't you be in bed?" Brigid crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow at him.
Bellamy's eyes snapped over to the boy who was now standing behind her, and Miller threw his hands up in defense. "Hey, I tried. She wouldn't listen. You know how she is."
Brigid flashed them a cocky grin, basking in the annoyance radiating off of them because of her persistence. She rocked her head back and forth, "It's probably one of my best traits."
Bellamy placed his hand on the small of her back and pushed her lightly towards the ladder. "Upstairs, come on, you need rest."
Brigid shook her head at Bellamy before swallowing hard, "Fuck that. I've had enough rest, I've been passed out for hours. I need to keep myself busy before I start thinking about how everything down here is falling apart."
Bellamy nodded, swiping his tongue along his lips and darting his eyes over to the ladder. "Fine, but I think you should have a little talk with your friends first." He glanced over towards where Nate was standing before leaning closer to her, whispering in her ear. "I didn't think it was my place to tell them."
"About Jace?" Miller questioned, looking between the two of them. Brigid awkwardly pushed herself away from Bellamy and wouldn't make eye contact with either of them. Miller nodded his head, letting out a deep breath of understanding, "I get it. Meet upstairs, I'll go get Rory, Shanks, and Harper."
