Chapter 22-The trail goes hot

Hey! Just to recap, last chapter Rebecca and them found one of Dasha's hideaways. They were seen spying on her and the building they were in was blown up by Dasha with them still in it. Find out what happens next.

At least now there was the certainty that Dasha was the culprit and about where she was holding the bombs if she left any behind.

Not too long after the explosion the police, ambulance and fire brigade arrive.
There isn't much of a fire left when they attempt to extinguish it. Most of the fire burned out almost immediately after she left.

The firemen enter the building to see if anyone might have been in the building, which was supposed to be abandoned. The first of floor they don't find any signs of life. On the second floor however... They find the four agents and the two policemen stumbling down the stairs. They help them out of the building and drop them all off at the ambulance. They have to get a check up at the ambulance to see if they were badly injured and need medical attention. The only one that is obviously hurt is Kyan.

"You have a laceration on your arm and second degree burns on your left side. Lucky for you the laceration isn't deep enough for stitches, barely" the paramedic says as he finishes inspecting Kyan.  
"You are very fortunate, all of you," he says as treats Kyan's wounds.

"The others are fine," another paramedic says as he walks back to the ambulance.
"Their heart rates are a little elevated, but that is to be expected. However they do have first degree burns and I'm giving them some oxygen masks after all the smoke they breathed in. They don't have any big injuries. Just a few tiny scratches from the glass here and there..."

The paramedic cleans Kyan's wounds and rubs a cream on Kyan's arm before wrapping it up with a cloth.

"You keep that clean now! Open it up twice a day to let it breathe and put this cream on, it will help it heal faster," he instructs.

He dismisses Kyan to go talk to the police to give his account of what happened. They will not be convicted for trespassing, since they are with policemen and on an investigation. After they all gave their accounts and the policemen confirmed a few things, they were dismissed.

They didn't tell the police who they were investigating and for what, which really upset the policemen, but they were assured that as soon as the investigation was completed the blank spaces in their story will be filled. The policemen accepted this, but only because they were fellow service men.

After they finished with the policemen they started to track Dasha again. In her haste she wasn't as careful as she usually is. She got caught by many surveillance cameras and they could find out where she flew to. Since she was in such a haste, she didn't change her appearance either, except her clothing. From now on it would be easier, easier than Rebecca initially thought. In fact this whole mission has been surprisingly easy, considering the police could not handle it. This made Rebecca suspicious, but she tried to suppress this feeling.

They called in some backup on their way to where Dasha was headed. Not too many, since they're used to dealing with people like this themselves. But enough for in case she has backup herself and a shootout starts. All they have to do now is trace her footsteps to get to her before she can change her appearance and they lose her again.

First thing they do when they arrive in France is they book Kyan into a hotel. There is no way he can be able to fight with his cut arm and burnt side. They leave him aith a gun to defend himself and go to the last place they saw Dasha. She went into a clothing store to buy clothes, probably to change her appearance.

They go to the boutique to question the employees but they say they hadn't seen a woman with Dasha's description. Rebecca's father hackes into the boutique's camera footage. He tracks Dasha until she went into the dressing room. After that he can't see her come out. He installs a program that can analyze body language from a video. He uses this technology to analyze Dasha going in and they analiyze everyone coming out. It is past closing time at the boutique and the manager has reminded them many times, but finally retired to the employee room until they finish.

They finally get a match! She has long blonde hair, looks really tall and has a totally different style of clothing. They look at all the traffic cameras and after watching her movements for four miles. They realise that she is on her way to the hotel Kyan is booked into!

"How could she have known?" Rebecca shouts out and starts pacing nervously with her hands in her hair.

When they arrive at the hotel room the door is already halfway open. Rebecca pushes the door open. There is a lot evidence of a brawl all over the room. Rebecca walks around the room, inspecting the evidence. She stops in front of the counter top in the small kitchen. There is blood on the edge of the table, probably the result of someone's head hitting the edge of the counter.

"There was a struggle," Rebecca's father says as he stands stunned.

"Thanks for stating the obvious!" Rebecca yells back.

"That is no way to speak to your father. No matter how intense the situation," Rebecca's mother scolds.

"I know. I'm sorry" A moment of silence passes between them.
"We have to find him!" Rebecca states, determined.

Her father is able to track who they suspect Dasha is or one of the people she gets to work for her. They were sure however that Kyan is with this person. They found out that they took him to an abandoned subway station.

"Why would they take him?" Rebecca asks, frustrated.

"There are many possibilities. She could use him to make sure we don't pursue her again or for leverage. Or the worst scenario... That she wants to torture him to find out about our agency and how we tracked her."

"I hate her!" Rebecca says in a harsh tone.

"You are really quite the gorgeous young man. Too bad you are so young," Dasha says in a pouty voice as she sits on a table in front of Kyan where he is tied up in a chair. He notices that she has almost no trace of a Russian accent.  She is wearing all black clothes, almost like a Catwoman suit. She is wearing a wig of long blonde hair and has bright red lipstick on. The room is so dark they can almost barely see each other. Kyan grunts at her comment. Almost as if he is in pain, which he was in that moment.

"What do you want with me?" He pushed out. She laughs at this, a sexy laugh that has a surprisingly crazy sounding undertone.

"Many people have asked me that and yet I've never given them the answer I'm going to give you now-" Kyan frowns and waits expectingly.
