Rebecca and Kyan already agreed that she would deal with Cicil while he takes on Cicil's partner. From there on they will take down the others who are part of their group and join the fight. They hope that her parents will catch on and join the battle, especially if there are more moles than they expected.
Kyan is the first to spring into action, hungry for a battle after what felt like a extremely long recovery this past week.
In an instant he pins a group of men down, using his ability. He leaves Cicil to Rebecca, not pinning him down. He floats over to the men at an aggressively fast speed and let's them go as soon as he nears them.
Cicil looks around in confusion but before he can register what's going on he is attacked out of the sky by Rebecca. She crashes down on him and starts banging her fists into him. It feels good and awful at the same time. She knows she is fulfilling her destiny and protecting her family, but at the same time she feels bad because he didn't provoke this response out of her.
Not now anyway.
She can feel his tender flesh giving way under her balled fists and even a bone or two crushing under her knuckles. The feeling makes the hairs on the nape of her neck stand up.
As soon as Kyan lets the group of men go, five out of the seven are back up and attacking him from all sides. He punches the first man to reach him on his left side and the man stumbles backwards. Another attack comes from behind and Kyan jumps to change direction. As he does this he kicks forward and hits the man right on the nose. Blood starts streaming out of his now broken nose.
Rebecca looks down at Cicil and sees a bashed up, swollen face. His eyes are closed, probably from passing out from the pain. Rebecca's head shoots up when Kyan gives a frustrated yell. When she looks over to him she sees that he is encircled by men, holding him so another can punch him. Rebecca looks over to her parents who are standing frozen in horror. When they see how they are beating Kyan though, they spring into action as well. Rebecca's father runs forward barrelling towards the men. Rebecca's mother however stands her ground.
Rebecca calls to the men to distract them from what they are doing. Some of them look up but other's eyes are still fixed on Kyan. The one doing the most hitting looks straight into Rebecca's eyes, giving her a chill. They say your eyes are doorways to your soul. All Rebecca can see in his soul is darkness. He starts storming towards her, but stops when he hears his men shouting. Rebecca's father is using his speed and attacking the men mid run. The man looks back at Rebecca, his mind set on having her for himself.
He starts storming towards her, shouting something that involved the word brother. She tries to manifest something, to stop him. After four long strides from the man she manages to manifest a brick wall between them. He is running to fast to stop and runs right into the wall.
Once the initial shock and adrenaline wears off Rebecca is very impressed by her amazing manifestation skills. Her training has really paid off. Rebecca's mother runs over to her, grabbing her into a hug.
"Did you see that?" She asks, thrilled with herself.
"Yes! It was amazing honey!" Her mother gushes. They snap out of their moment when they heard grunts coming from where Kyan and her father are fighting. Her father is moving in a blaze and Kyan is throwing punches and doing kicks Rebecca didn't even know were possible. "But now we still have to fight some more," her mother says and pushes Rebecca away from her slightly.
Rebecca jumps to land right in the middle of the battle. She fights alongside Kyan and her father taking out the last three men. Rebecca and Kyan are busy fighting the same guy, kicking and punching with all their might when someone goes to attack Rebecca from behind. Rebecca's mother sees this and uses her telepathic ability to make his head head spin and ears ring. He grabs his head and covers his ears while screaming in pain. He falls onto his knees and soon Rebecca's mother lets the headache spread to the rest of the group.
They all fall to the ground and at first the three of them are confused as to what is happening but then Rebecca catches on. She backs away from the men and gestures for Kyan and her father to leave as well.
"Everyone, we have to run now as fast as we can, for as long as we can. I'm sure you are all aware of the anti-metahuman company. These men work for them and are planning to do awful things to all of us. So we need to move now!" She announces loudly for the other members of the agencies to hear. They were standing around in confusion during the fight and some even fled to the edges of the plain.
Everyone starts running after Francois, who is still leading them in the direction of the promised land. Kyan and Rebecca's father start to run as well. But Rebecca and her mother don't follow.
"What are you both doing?" Rebecca's father calls after them and he and Kyan both stop running.
"We have to stay and make sure they are completely unconscious and stay that way before we leave!" Rebecca's mother shouts back. She is still holding she men down, mentally. Kyan runs over to Rebecca and grabs her arm.
"Come with us! Your mother can handle them," he urges her on.
"Thank you. But this is part of my destiny. I have to stay and make sure they won't find the promised land."
"I won't leave without you!" He says with a panicked look on his face. He clearly means his words. She smiles a sincere smile back at him while looking deep into his intens green eyes. Deeper than she ever has before. She can tell that he has never been so passionate about anything before. Not from what she's seen. His eyes are pleading for her to come with him and not put him and her father through the agony of wondering about the two of them.
"I know you won't. But you have to. We'll be right behind you," she winks at him, trying to lighten the mood. He sighs loudly and she practically shoves him away. Kyan and her father start running, looking over their shoulders as they do so.
Rebecca and her mother concentrate all their mind power on making the men pass out. But that isn't the only thing Rebecca plans on doing. She wants to erase their memories. The men, now in kneeling positions, stop screaming and soon collapse on the forest floor. Rebecca has to concentrate and work fast for the next thing. Before her mother notices that she is lingering. She scans their minds and visualizes the memory of the promised land as a piece of the puzzle that she extracts.
"We are done here! We have to go now! We don't have much time to get away before they wake up!" Her mother calls urgently.
"Just one second," Rebecca grunts out. She finds the piece and extracts it from their memories. As soon as she finishes she turns and breaks into a sprint. She and her mother eventually catch up to the others after two minutes of non stop sprinting.
Hi my readers! Told you this would be a longer chapter ;) Hope it wasn't too long though. Hope you liked the action scene in this chapter.
