They slow down to a brisk walk and after ten minutes of walking at that pace they start to walk calmly again. Rebecca's mother leans over to her and asks,"How did you do that?"

"What?" Rebecca asks, confused about what her mother is referring to. Though she had her suspicions and was hoping that she wouldn't bring it up.

"How did you wipe their memories? Before we started running."

"How did you kn-" She stops mid sentence already knowing the answer. Her mother probably already searched her mind for what she was doing while her mother was waiting for her. "I'm not really sure. I just focused on the task at hand and well... Did it." She shrugs.

"You have amazing potential!" Rebecca smiles at her mother's complement.

"Thank you!" Her mother pulls her into a hug as they walk. But they break apart when Kyan comes jogging towards them. He has been at the head of the group and it only reached him now that they have started gaining on the group.

"Rebecca!" He yells as he is still approaching them. He comes to a halt in front of them. "Glad you guys made it out okay," he grabs them both into a hug. "Do you think they will find us?"

"I don't thinks so," Rebecca says smiling at her mother. Her mother smiles back knowingly.

There is the prominent sound of water nearby and soon the smell of it as well. They only have another six kilometers to go. And are extremely close to the promised land. Another two kilometers on they start to follow a stream up the last bit of the mountain. The sound of running water gets louder the more they walk. The older members of the expedition start to moan about the fact that their tired. When they come into a clearing and out from under the cover of their trees, they all gasp at the beautiful sight before them.

It is a huge waterfall falling into a small pool which in turn leads into the stream they have been following. After a minute of just staring in absolute amazement Kyan looks at Rebecca and asks,"Where do we go from here?"

Rebecca snaps out of her daze and looks at him with her brow furrowed. She walks over to Francois, who is still staring, and she grabs the map from him. She examines the map and looks up, frowning in confusion "According to she map we have to keep going forward."  Confused comments come from the other members. Kyan walks over to her and grabs the map from her to examine it.

"What? How can we?" He looks in the direction the map shows they have to go.
"Maybe we took a wrong turn earlier, after the fight?"

"Are you doubting Francois' navigation skills?" Rebecca asks putting her hands on her hips.

"Yeah!" A cheeky shout comes from Francois.

"No I'm just saying that we were in a hurry after the big fight and we may have gone off course." Rebecca stares at the waterfall as he speaks and notices something dark behind it.

"There is something dark behind the waterfall." She tilts her head to the side.

"It's just the rock wall behind it," Kyan says and looks back down at the map. Rebecca starts walking into the water. "What are you doing?" He calls after her.

She doesn't reply and starts swimming toward the waterfall. Kyan bounces on the balls of his feet, having an internal battle about whether or not he should go after her. He shakes his head and starts sprinting into the water, following her. She reaches the area where the water is falling and suddenly stands up. The water only reaching her knees.

She walks through the falling water slightly bending down from the pressure of the water falling on her head. Kyan soon reaches the same point and stands up as well. He follows her under the waterfall. She searches the wall and as the people watch her she suddenly disappears. The members of the expedition start talking in confusion. Kyan soon also disappears, just like Rebecca did.

Everyone stands and watches in amazement and confusion. They wait for their return and explanation. After a few minutes Rebecca and Kyan come flying out of the spray from the waterfall. They swim back to shore as fast as they can and are met with many questions being shouted over each other. Kyan shushes them and allows Rebecca to speak.

"Okay it is a swim and a climb away but behind the waterfall there is a gap in the rock wall, we will have to go through that. Behind that..." She pauses for effect. "Is the promised land," she says with a smile.

After they explain how to get to the ledge and more or less where the entrance is, all of the members of the expedition jump in the water and start swimming towards the waterfall. When they reach it they feel a slightly slick slab of rock behind the curtain of water. When the get up onto it they crouch down, just like Kyan and Rebecca did from the force of the water pounding down on them.

They follow the slimy rock face until they feel a gap, unseen from afar. It is surprisingly wide and they move through with ease. Five steps later they enter a huge cavity inside the mountain. It is a little damp from the water that is messing from the waterfall and their soaking wet clothes.

When they step out of the crack they all freeze in amazement. The cavity in the mountain seems never-ending, but in reality it is five hundred and fifty feet wide, seven hundred feet high and three miles long. The entire cavity is its own ecosystem. It is filled with green plants and fungi as well as many birds and insects. There are holes varying between diameters of twenty centimetres and two point five meters where fingers of light reach into the cavity to rain its light onto the plants who relish in it.

A shaken up Francois pushes through the crowd of people who are standing frozen, mid-step. He is soaking wet, which isn't a good look for him and he knows it. "Why are you all standing around like a bunch of..." He starts to say but the words fade into a gasp. Kyan, Rebecca and her parents are soon to follow. Rebecca's parents' jaws drop in amazement at the scene stretched out before them.

A few birds chirp as they make circles in the cave and fly out of one of the holes. They all start walking in a group, exploring the cave. When they reach a certain point someone of the group snaps out of his daze and stops walking. He focuses on the energy around him and realises that there is humming feeling inside his chest which he isn't accustomed to and yet it feels strangely familiar. He feels stronger, more powerful than ever before. The group leaves him behind and he realises this, sprinting after them to catch up.

"What is this place?" he shouts after them. They all stop murmuring and turn towards him. They take in his pale complexion, blonde hair and green eyes. "What are we doing here?" Everyone turns towards Rebecca, expectantly.

"This information is highly confidential. And I expect all of you to keep it that way." She looks at everyone, warning them with her eyes.
"This is our promised land. We are all here to colonize it and make our own life here." A few gasps come out of the crowd and a humming breaks out as everyone starts to talk.

"What is the promised land?" The young man asks.

"It is the place were our forefathers came from or were aiming to go. I'm not sure which one. Legend has it that this is the place where we truly belong. Do you feel that humming in your chests?" Everyone nods. "That is the earth strengthening us, enhancing our abilities and letting us know that we are home." Cheers come out of the crowd and smiles are spread across everyone's faces.

"How do you suggest we 'colonise' this place?" The young blonde man asks with an attitude.

"Well..." Rebecca begins as she looks around at their group.

Hey hey! So that was the last chapter. I know it was slightly on the short side, but hopefully the sequel won't take to long to write though. O I forgot! There is a sequel!!!
