Love is not holding hands
Love is not that passionate kiss
Love is not the long stare
Deep into another's eyes
Love is not saying those words
Love is not buying that gift
Love is not taking a trip
To a romantic spot elsewhere
Love is not that candlelit meal
Love is not a box of chocolates
Love is not expensive wine
And a picnic in the park
Love is not celebrated on that one day of the year
Love is thinking of someone
Love is doing the dishes
Love is letting that person
Sleep in whilst you sort the house
Love is saying sorry
Love is giving a helping hand
Love is trying to never let
Anyone down even though we're not perfect
Love, quite frankly, is being there and doing that for someone else
The overblown romantic gesture is just the icing on the cake
You need the mundane parts of love to make it work
After all, who wants a big pink sugar icing heart
Without a bit of sponge and jam to back it up?
