<!><!><!><!><!><!><!><!><!>"Brie ... Colby, you two understand why you are here ... right?" My principal asked. I looked down, at my chili stained shirt. I knew exactly why I was here ... because of him.
Colby Jackson, the man, wait he's not even a man ... he is a boy, and I hate him. No, seriously, I despise him with every bone in my body. I have felt this way ever since first grade when he spilled milk on my new dress. After that, it was full on revenge.
"Yes, sir, I know why we are here ... Brie thought my white shirt would look better brown." Colby stated looking down at the spot where I threw my chocolate milk at him. I smirked, it was right in the middle of his shirt, I had a perfect aim ... Mr. Jenkins, our principal, straightened up his green tie. I saw his glare at Colby turn to me.
"Ms. Banny," He said using my last name. I scrunch up my face, for I hated people calling me by my last name. "Did you start the food fight?" Mr. Jenkins asked in his deep, authoritative voice. I gave an innocent smile, one I am known for.
"Why, no Mr. Jenkins," I stated in an innocent voice. "I was simply walking by when ..." I glanced over at Colby. "He tripped me," I said. I then looked down at my ankle. "I think it might be sprained," I added.
"That's bull! She walked just fine coming in here!" Colby shouted I could see his face getting red with anger. I smiled in satisfaction, he was mad ... score! Making him mad brings me so much pleasure.
I had not realized, though, that Mr. Jenkins had caught my smile of satisfaction.
"When will you two grow up?" He questioned. "I swear every week you two are in here for something, today I thought it was just an accident the food fight started ... but now I see that it is y'all's quarrel. I'm at the point where I don't care who started it ... Both are being assigned jobs ... None of which will be the same, because of your track record I am afraid of losing another classroom if you two are in it."
He stated referring to how one of Colby's pranks on me went down in smoke, literally. Mr. Jenkins sighed and then gave each of us a smile. "Ms. Banny, you will be the new addition to the Newspaper staff."
I jumped out of my seat. "What?! The newspaper staff?! No one likes those pencil pushing nerds!" I stated.
"The President of the newspaper staff is my son." Stated Mr. Jenkins. "Now, can you please sit back down, unless you want to me to send you to the nurse's office with a case of 'lying about a sprained ankle'?"
"Busted," Colby whispered to me.
I moved my hand behind me and flipped him off behind my back, so Mr. Jenkins wouldn't see.
"As for you Colby, you will work with Broadcasting."
"Yes." Hissed Colby.
"That's not fair! He gets the cool job! I get the newspaper, that reports on crappy news! Like cafeteria food and teen pregnancy! Boring! He," I pointed at Colby, "Get's to report on sports and national news that actually is interesting! Like a polar bear saved from hunter, or some stupid shit like-"
"Ms. Banny, watch the language." Mr. Jenkins added. I sighed.
It just was not fair! His job is just going to add to his popularity because our school has a T.V station and every day during 4th period, the T.V's in the classrooms are turned on during class and they give national and school news. Everyone practically loves it because it stops 4th period.
"Well, if you don't like the job you have you can always work with the janitors." Mr. Jenkins said with a smile. I huffed and began to walk out of his office."I am not done talking ..." I turned and looked at him with a 'you better hurry up' look. "If I have any and I mean any more trouble from you two ever again, I will not think twice about expelling you two." He said, and then leaned back in his chair. "You're dismissed."
