I decided that since it was Friday, that I would give you a chapter without a trivia question!

Colby's P.O.V

As soon as I walked into Elliot's house I was greeted by his mother. She gave me a warm smile followed by a pat on the back. "Hello Colby, so nice for you to finally grace us with your presence." Elliot's mom joked.

I gave her a toothy grin, "how are you Mrs. Rather?"

"Call me Ms. Rather. I decided that today I will not be married to Mr. Rather." Her lips twitched up into a bright smile.

"I heard that!" Mr. Rather's voice boomed through the entrance hall as he entered.

His twinkling and humorous eyes gazed at his wife.

"Good, maybe it will inspire you to clean the garage, like you promised." Mrs. Rather replied.

“So this is why I am suddenly divorced?” Mr. Rather asked.

His wife shrugged her shoulders and grinned, “Clean the garage and you will be remarried!”

“Does this mean we get to go on another honeymoon if I clean the garage?” Mr. Rather’s eyes started to look down at his loving wife with playfulness.

I was starting to get the idea that he wasn’t just hinting towards a honeymoon if he cleans the garage.

“Ummm, is Elliot in his room?” I quizzed, realizing I should go find him.

“Oh, yes, sorry!” Mrs. Rather proclaimed as her husband wrapped his arms around her waist.

I just simply nodded at her and left the entry hallway, heading towards Elliot’s room.

The moment I walked in Elliot’s grey colored room, I saw his backside facing me. Looking at him I noted that he was in his black leather recliner positioned in front of the TV.

“No! No! ... Shit!” His voice projected as the TV played evil, menacing laughs, indicating he had lost. “Level 67 ... damn, I will never reach it again.” I heard him murmur as I got closer.

When I reached him, Elliot looked up and gave me a frown.

“I was on level 67!” He stated with anger and sadness laced in his voice.

I looked at the screen and saw that it was back on the Call of Duty homepage. With a grin I shook my head. “No you didn’t,” I lied, knowing he had in fact reached level 67, for I saw it as I came in the room.

A growl escaped his lips, “I did too!”

I chuckled, “Liar!”

Elliot punched me on the side of my arm, “Whatever, and I so did.”

“Okay, whatever you say Mr. Liar,” I joked.

“Buzz off…”

“Hey, you’re the one that demanded I come over. If it was to tell me to just buzz off I wouldn’t have come over.”

Elliot rolled his eyes at me, “blah, blah, blah … So what’s up? Should I still be afraid your going to kill me?”

“Tempting, but no ... I talked it out with Brie … and actually, believe it or not, I asked her out. She said yes.”

“… Oh … cool.”

“Yeah … So, what the hell did you want to talk to me about?”

Elliot turned off his game, and television, and then he leaned back in his chair. His dark blue eyes wandered around the room before landing on me. His lips parted as if to speak, but quickly closed.

“Dude, what is it?” I quizzed as I sat down in his desk chair.

Suddenly, Elliot got off of his recliner and started to pace back in forth in the room. Admittedly his actions were making me worried. The only time I’d seen him act like this was when his dog, Pet, died.

“Who died?” I questioned.

Elliot stopped pacing and looked directly at me, “huh?”

“The only time you've ever acted this way was when Pet died. So, my question is, who has died?”

“Oh ... no one ... But ... Colby ... I did something.”

I let a laugh escape my lips, “Okay...” Silence filled the room and I raised an eyebrow because Elliot wasn’t telling me what exactly he had done. “You know, I can’t read your mind man.”

“... I told Kimberly.”

A smile found my face. “You told her, as in ‘Kimberly I love you forever and always’?”

Elliot’s eyes narrowed at me, “Something along those lines, yes, but not so damn cheesy.”

“Oh, come on you know you said it in a cheesy way.”

Elliot didn’t reply, which meant he knew he had. “Screw you...”

“No, I think I will let Kimberly do that,” I stated with a sly smile.

“Not funny ... Anyways, I don’t think Kimberly will ever go out with me.”

I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion, “Why do you say that?”

Elliot walked back over to his recliner and sat down. His face was etched with anger, before fading into sadness. He inhaled before exhaling loudly.

I watched as he tapped his fingers on the leather recliner arm rest.

“She is dating someone else, and has been for a while ... I think she loves him.”

I moved my head back a little, wondering if I heard him right, “Dating someone? Who?”

Elliot started to rock a little in his chair. His fingers were still drumming on the arm rest as he spoke, “Not sure.”

The lie was present on his face.

“Now, now, Elliot you know if you lie, your nose will grow,” I exclaimed.

“Listen, it doesn’t matter who she is dating ... Okay, maybe to me it does, but still.”

“Man, don’t tell me you are giving up.”

An evil smirk fell on Elliot’s face, “I might see there is no hope, but you know me, I can’t give up.”

I nodded, "You had me worried that I lost my friend there for a second with all that hopeless look in your eyes ... so what are you planning to do to show her you are her knight in shining armor?”

“Well, that is why I called you here ... I need your help...”

The corner of my lips twitched up, “You know if it gets you and Kimberly together, I’m in..."
