Silent Treatment

Brie’s P.O.V

I am not one to call defeat, but admittedly, when you have your smoking hot boyfriend literally dragging you out of the house, you kinda have to confess (mentally) that you’ve lost the battle of refusing to leave for a date that you owe him.

“Brie, stop being stubborn and get in the car!” Colby told me with a stern tone.

It was the same kind of tone that he gave me a few days ago ... the one that makes me do whatever he says. So, in the end this voice of his led me to having an internal battle with myself about getting in the car. Rolling my eyes and sighing, I got in the car.

The smile of triumph was clearly planted on his face once he closed my door.

I growled in frustration for giving into him. My mind was racing with ideas of how to show him he can’t control me ... nothing came to mind ... wait ... I could give him the silent treatment.

That’s it! I am not going to say one word to him!

Colby slipped into the car and started the engine. “Ready?” Colby asked me with a wide grin.

I held my chin up with my lips pressed together like two pieces of paper stuck together by super glue. My eyes were avoiding his.

“Oh, I see how it is ... you’re giving me the silent treatment.”

I didn’t even mutter a word, and was thankful he didn’t say anything else as he started to drive.

My inner self was saying I’m being very immature. After all Colby has been nothing but nice -- wait, that is a huge lie, he pushed me off his damn lap not too long ago! The throbbing pain in my tailbone reminded me of his actions.

Looking out the windshield with my green eyes, I tried to contemplate as to where the hell he was taking me. My mouth parted, as if to ask where we are going, but was quickly shut by myself remembering I was giving Colby the silent treatment.

“I know you Brie, and it is killing you not to ask where we are going,” Colby’s husky voice filled the car.

I bit my lip, hard, trying not to reply.

His car drove over a hill and my stomach did a small flip. Gazing out the passenger window all I could see was the blur of tree trunks as we raced down back roads, leading to gosh knows where. I leaned my head on the warm window, in boredom.

“You want to play a game, to pass time?” Colby asked me.

I looked over in his direction and then allowed my eyes to narrow at him. He knew very well I was in no mood for a game. Unless the game granted me permission to punch him in his pretty little face. A wide, noticeable, smirk crossed my face as an image of me hitting him ran through my mind.

Colby quickly glanced at me, before turning his attention back to the road. “What is with that smile of yours? It’s kinda creepy.”

Shaking my head, I said nothing and continued with my grin.

“You can go to sleep if you want, we won’t be at our destination for at least two more hours,” Colby informed me in a solemn voice.

My head snapped in his direction, curiosity started to course through me even more as to where the hell we are going that it takes TWO HOURS to get there! It took every ounce of me not to question him...
