Kimberly’s P.O.V

The house was filled with an eerie silence as I sat on the sofa, staring at the black screen of my television. I refused to move, for my brain kept replaying the scene between Brie and I. Every time it did so, I got madder and madder. It just irked me how Brie didn’t see eye to eye with me.

I released a sigh, hoping it would calm me down a bit, but it was in vain.

With an outstretched arm, I grabbed the TV remote. I lifted the controller in the air and was about to press the power button, when my doorbell rang.

My head twisted in the direction of the front door. My brown eyes narrowed at the door, for every part of me was begging not to get off the couch, all I wanted as of this moment, was too be able to wallow in peace.

The door bell sound once again permeated through the house. I groaned, realizing that sooner or later I had to answer the door. I mutely rose up from the sofa in indignation. Gradually, I made my way to the red, wooden, front door.

Gripping the cool, silver doorknob, I opened the door.

“Hey, Kimberly!”

“... Elliot, what the hell are you doing back here?” I asked with annoyance laced in my voice.

An amused expression found his face at first sight of me, “Colby called me to come get Brie’s car!”

My eyes flickered over to the driveway to in fact find Brie’s car parked there. Confusion surged through me as to why Brie’s car was here, but not her. Guilt then flooded my emotions for I wondered if in her despair over our argument, she decided to walk home, alone. “Is she okay?!” I asked with slight panic.

Elliot shrugged his broad shoulders, “I don’t know. All I know is that Colby called and asked me to get her car. She wouldn’t have left her keys in your house by any chance?”

I shook my head, “No, she didn’t.”

Pushing past me, and entering my house without invitation, Elliot walked in. He strolled straight into my living room. I huffed and closed the front door, “Elliot, what the hell do you think you are doing?” I asked him as I entered the living room.

Elliot looked over his shoulders at me, “Looking for Brie’s keys.”

“I told you, she didn’t leave them here! Now, please, leave,” I urged.

Instead of leaving, Elliot plopped down on my couch and put his feet on my coffee table. He disheveled his brown moppy hair, and picked up my T.V remote. “What’s on tonight?” Elliot questioned as he turned on the television.

I puffed in frustration for he was seriously acting like he owned the damn place. “Elliot, I’m not going to ask you again, leave! Now!”

“Ummm, no,” Elliot proclaimed.

“You don’t have a choice in the matter! I own the damn place!” I exclaimed.

“You don’t own this place your parents do, Silly, so I’m not leaving until your parents get home...”

I growled at him as I walked more into the room. “Elliot, my parents are dead! I live alone and this is my house. Now, as the owner of this house, I demand that you leave!”

Elliot’s face seemed to have drained of color as my words sunk in. He hurriedly got off the couch and gave me a grim look, “I-I didn’t know ...” he muttered.

I shrugged my shoulders, “It happened a long time ago...”

“How do you live alone? Why didn’t they put you in foster care?” Elliot quizzed.

Sighing, I went over to the sofa and took a seat. “I was in foster care for a while, but the day I turned 18, I got a place of my own. Turns out my parents were rich, and left me some money, hence the money for the house and my care.”

Elliot turned and looked at me, “Oh...” his voice trailed.

“Anywhoo, there is the door,” I stated as I pointed to the red door. “Don’t let it hit you on the way out.”

Studying me with his analyzing eyes, Elliot made no attempt to leave. It was starting to irk me, admittedly. I mean, can’t a guy take a hint?

“I can’t leave until I find Brie’s keys," Elliot told me as he took a seat next to me on the couch.

My eyes gazed in his direction, instead of looking into his deep blue eyes I glanced down at his lips.

At that very moment a fiery feeling broke out across my mouth. It was if I was yearning for his lips on mine. My mind kept telling me to snap out of it, but my body wouldn’t oblige.

I started to move towards him, as if I was in a trance that I couldn’t quite break free of. His lips were like a magnet that attached mine...

It was when Elliot smiled, that I noted I was inches from his face and sitting in his lap.

“I’m certainly going berserk,” I stated softly before planting my mouth on Elliot’s.

Pure zeal broke out throughout my body as our mouths moving in sync. My heart started to beat harder and harder with each passing second. I felt as if my body was on fire with desire and need to be consumed by Elliot. All in all, every part of me was screaming for more.

Elliot started to slip his warm hand under my shirt and it was then that I jolted to reality of what I was doing. Leaping off his lap I began to shake my head. “N-n-no, this didn’t hap-pen!” I exclaimed.

A bumptious smirk appeared on Elliot’s face. He stood up from the couch, he placed his hands in his pocket and then chuckled, “Oh, damn it, I guess it slipped my mind that Colby already gave me Brie’s keys,” Elliot said as he pulled out a pair of keys from his pocket.

I snarled at Elliot as my eye narrowed into a glare. “You son of a-”

Elliot placed his index finger over my mouth. “Now, Kim, don’t go saying bad words.”

I smacked his hand away from my face, “Get out of my house! Now!”

The smile never went away as Elliot moved his head down towards mine, and gave my lips a peck before standing tall. “Okay, okay, I will leave … for now.”

With that Elliot left my house, smiling from ear to ear.
