Chapter 4

When I arrived at work the next morning I was happy to find that I didn't have a lesson first thing. Once again Lexi and I were the only two not teaching.

As soon as the others had left the room I collapsed onto the sofa, exhausted from my long day out yesterday. As soon as my eyes shut I could feel Lexi's stare burning into the side of my face. As we had gone out on Saturday she was the only one who knew about my date with Ben. As much as I tried to ignore her stare, I just couldn't. So slowly, I opened my eyes to meet hers. Raising my eyebrow at her I waited for her to fire questions at me.

"I'm dying here, how was it?" She finally burst a grin appearing on her lips as she pulled her chair closer to me. I couldn't help but smile as I thought of yesterday. It truly had been so much fun and I was excited for our next date.

"It was good," I shrugged trying to act casual but I knew Lexi would be able to see straight through me. She reminded me a lot of Maggie, mainly because they both seemed to always know what I was thinking.

"They way you were staring at Ben this morning tell me it was a lot more than good!" She cried out as she laughed at me. I pulled my hat down over my face wanting to sleep before my lesson started in half an hour, but I knew Lexi wouldn't take no for an answer she wanted to know everything.

"I'm too tired to explain," I whined through my hat as I tried to close my eyes. However, before I could even say the word sleep my hat was being pulled from my face and Lexi was staring down at me. I was right, she didn't take no for an answer.

So for the next half hour I explained to her every single detail of what happened yesterday, including the kiss. I had already told the story to Maggie over the phone this morning so I knew I hadn't missed a detail. I was just finishing telling her about dinner when the door was flung open and Ben strolled in.

He smirked when our conversation instantly stopped. "Talking about me?" There was no point in him asking, he already knew. I just rolled my eyes at him as I sunk back into the sofa, wanting to be able to sleep.

"Shouldn't you be out teaching?" Lexi asked, clearly annoyed that he had interrupted my story. It scared me how much she was like Maggie. Ben sent a cheeky smile in my direction before waking over to where I was sitting. He sat down on the arm of the sofa, laying his arm along the back before he spoke.

"I should but it was a little cold so I just came to get something from this goofy one." All the while he spoke, his grin grew wider and wider. I knew he was up to something but I couldn't figure out what. Trying to put some distance between us, I started to slowly edge along the sofa. I was too late.

In one swift movement he leant down and pressed his lips to mine. I was too shocked by the kiss to even realise he had other motives behind the kiss. As quick as he came, he was gone again and so was my hat. My mouth dropped open as he ran out the room, blowing me a kiss, laughing like a little child with my hat on top of his head.

The rest of the day was much better than I was expecting. All the little kids ended up being great, and listened to everything I said. Ben came up to me just before lunch to pop my hat back on to my head and send a little wink in my direction too.

By the end of the day I somehow had my energy back. I had been lucky as one of my hour lessons had cancelled so I managed to take a nap as everyone else was working during that hour.

The last hour of my work ended up being the best because I was on another group tubing session with Ben. It didn't end in a snowball fight like the first session but it was still fun, Ben made everything fun.

At the end of the session Ben grabbed my hand and led me to the staff room. "Do you want to go grab something to eat?" He asked as he held the door open. Of course, I agreed and before I knew it I was in his beat up car on the way to a local pizza place.
