Chapter 5

The following few weeks passed in a blink of an eye. I managed to see Ben everyday and had gone to every Friday family meal since the first. I truly felt like I was becoming part of the family.

Ben had taken me on all kinds of dates, we had gone wake-boarding again and then we had gone on some more traditional dates like dinner and a movie. Working with him was absolutely amazing too.

Before I knew it there was only one week of summer before school started and I wanted to make the most of it. Two days during the week I had already planned to spend with friends, meaning that was two days I couldn't spend with Ben.

Tonight, however, I was going to one of Ben's friends party's with him. I had told my parents that I was staying over at Maggie's so I could just crash at Ben's that night.

It was around seven when I got my usual text telling me that Ben was outside. Happily, I grabbed my overnight bag, checked my appearance one more time in the mirror and skipped out of the house. Opening the door I grinned goofily as I saw Ben. He look gorgeous as normal, wearing simple dark jeans and a navy t-shirt.

"You look amazing Goofy," he said before placing a soft kiss on my lips. Grinning, I put on my seatbelt and then we were off. It only took around fifteen minutes before we arrived at Ben's friends house where the party was already in full swing.

About fifteen people were hanging around outside the house already and we could hear the music from inside the car. As soon as I was out the car Ben grabbed my hand as he led me inside. Weaving through the dense crowd we finally made it to who I guessed were Ben's friends.

The all shouted their hellos over the loud music, some even giving Ben a cheesy man hug before Ben introduced me. "Guys, this is Jenny," he said as he smiled in my direction. The whole group smiled and said hello before returning to their previous conversation.

"Want to get a drink?" Ben whispered in my ear as his arms snaked around my waist. I nodded as he pulled me out from the small circle and towards the kitchen. I decided on a vodka and coke while Ben just took a beer, he wouldn't be drinking a lot tonight as he still had to drive us home.

When we returned to the circle I was happy to see Lexi had joined the group. "Lexi!" I called, grinning over at her. Looking up she spotted me across the circle and dived towards me, giving me a hug.

"Jenny! I didn't know you were coming!" She squealed clearly already having had more to drink than I had. Lexi and I started chatting away, and I was glad that I knew someone else so Ben didn't have to babysit me the whole evening.

However, not long after Lexi was with some guy on the dance floor and I went back to Ben who was chatting to one of his friends in the kitchen. Ben caught my arms and pulled me between his legs as he continued to chat to his friend.

"Having a good time Goofy?" Ben asked as he spun me round to face him once his friend had disappeared into the crowded living room. I smiled and nodded as I wrapped my arms around his waist. Slowly Ben dipped his head and captured my lips in his. Smiling against his lips the kiss soon deepened. My hands fisted in the back of his t-shirt as his moved from the small of my back to the back of my hair, tangling themselves within.

When we finally pulled away we were both breathless and grinning at each other. "I wanted to ask you something," Ben said suddenly turning serious as his hands slowly rubbed up and down my back making it hard do concentrate.

"Yeah?" I said as my grip tightened on his hips and I pushed my body closer to him. His breath tickled my cheek we were so close but my eyes never left his. I noticed his Adam's apple dip slightly as he gulped, showing he was nervous.
