Tw- vomit, mentions of cutting
When Lauren got up Lynx couldn't help but look at the couple across the row. They were hugging, kissing, and being all around loving. It made Lynx burn with envy. In her starring Lynx didn't see Lauren return.
"Lynx, we may have to cut the trip short." Lauren stated.
"That's not funny Lauren."
"I'm not joking around, Jamie's mom is really sick and I need to be with her at this time. As soon as we land I'm leaving. Sorry Lynx, I just can't do this knowing that Jamie needs me."
Lauren's phone rang again and she took off once more. Lynx couldn't stop herself from crying this time. Not only would she be all alone in Tokyo and probably have to go home, but now she just messed up any chance of Lauren ever liking her.
This time when Lauren came back she didn't even look at Lynx. She looked across the row beside them to see how much farther the flight was. Then she whipped around to look out their window, and she saw the tears streaking Lynx's face.
"Why the hell are you crying?"
Lauren's harsh tone just did it for her. She broke down, unable to quiet her sobs. She pulled her knees up to her face and tried to make herself smaller.
She would have been to calm herself down, but Lauren didn't seem to care that she was crying anymore. She was tapping violently into her phone. Lynx rushed to the bathroom piling up earthing she had eaten the night before, and all from today. She gripped the sink edges, trying to surpass the urge to smash the mirror and shred her arms.
She calmed herself down and dumped herself in her seat, passing out for the rest of the flight.
As soon as they landed Lauren found her luggage and took off to a different plane. Lynx grabbed her arm before she could get in line.
"Don't leave me alone. Not here, I need you here." Lynx tried to persuade her.
Lauren looked at her disgusted and shoved her off. Lynx collapsed right there. She fell to the floor and curled into the smallest shape her body could muster.
She watched as Lauren left. She went through the line and boarded the plane back home. She didn't have the least bit of remorse for her friend who was sobbing in the middle of an airport.
"Anata wa daijōbu misudesu?" An old woman asked Lynx.
Lynx ran away. She grabbed her luggage and took off for her hotel, trying to see through the tears rushing out of her eyes.
This couldn't be happening. No way in hell this is real she consoled herself.
