As soon as the doctors let Lauren back into the room Lauren hugged Lynx as tightly as she could, and surprisingly Lynx hugged her back.
Lynx felt like she was dreaming. Lauren wasn't supposed to be here, and she definitely shouldn't be hugging her.
But Lauren was definitely hugging her, and Lynx didn't have the strength to push her away.
"What are you doing here?" Lynx asked.
Lauren looked at her with eyes full of concern and confusion.
"You almost died Lynx, why wouldn't I be here?" Lauren looked deeper into Lynx's eyes, trying to find out if she was joking or not.
"Why do you care? You have that other girl now." Lynx whimpered.
"I broke up with her Lynx. I left her for you."
Lynx's eyes widened and Lynx finally relaxed into Lauren's arms, letting herself be relaxed, but still not completely believing that Lauren was actually hers again.
