The first thing Lynx and Lauren noticed about their new school was that people were glaring at them. At their hands. They were holding hands and people were glaring. Lynx could feel the eyes of everyone on her, and she could tell that Lauren felt it too.
"Hey isn't that the girl that put Jamie in the hospital?" asked a little boy that was probably around seventh grade.
A few girls glared their teeth and Lynx realized why they were angry. This had been Jamie's old school. These students must have heard about what happens between the three of them, but apparently they hadn't heard the whole story.
It wasn't just the students that had it in for them though. The teachers weren't the friendliest either. Lynx and Lauren had absolutely no classes together. The only time they got to see each other was at lunch, and even then the glares they got were enough to keep them off of each other.
It seemed to be affecting Lauren more than it was affecting Lynx. When the two got home Lauren wouldn't talk to Lynx. Lynx kept trying to talk to Lauren and hold her but Lauren just wouldn't give up. It hurt Lynx so much.
It felt horrible. After they were supposed to go to bed Lynx went out on the balcony and sobbed loudly. Tears rolled down her face and she was shaking so hard that she didn't notice Lauren opening the sliding door. She didn't notice Lauren walk over to her. All she felt was Lauren arms wrap slowly around her, and all she heard was Lauren voice consoling her.
