eight|| "you came for me"

it had been days. eight days to be exact. josh had been counting.

eight days since maya was found unconscious.

eight days since the police tried to find who the mystery text was for.

eight days since josh had lost his mind.

the doctor wouldn't let anyone in except for family, but yet katy didn't think it was fare so she waited.

josh sat in the waiting room, head in hands, thinking of all the things he could have done to save her. to protect her.

"family of maya hart?"

josh looks up to see a doctor holding a clipboard  smiling at everyone.

that's a good sign, josh thought.

"maya is awake now is as healthy as ever, we suggest you go in pairs of two."

everyone smiles at the doctor before he walks away.

katy and shawn decide they'll go first. shawn drove all the way down to greenwich village to see maya.

"josh, I'll go in with you." riley holds out a hand for her uncle to take.

"thanks riles." he smiles at his niece when really he's freaking out.

twenty minutes later shawn and katy walk out smiling.

"she keeps asking for you two." katy smiles.

josh stands up nervously with riley right beside him.

riley drags josh to maya's room before stopping right in front of the door.

"stay here, I'll call you in, collect your thoughts first."

once riley enters the room she sees her best friend sitting in her bed watching teenwolf.

"this is josh's favourite show." maya didn't even glance at her best friend.

riley didn't need to say anything as she sat beside maya on the hospital bed.

when maya turned to her best friend her smile increased by ten.

"peaches!"

"maya!"

two held on tightly to each other, they haven't seen each other in eight days.

"oh, I forgot, I have a surprise for you."

riley jumped of the bed and ran out the door.

maya hart (finally someone pov)

the door creaked open and riley came back smiling.

"close your eyes."

i shut my eyes, knowing riley this surprise is going to be big.

"okay. open your eyes!"

as soon as i open my eyes my hands go straight to my mouth.

"i knew it, damnit i shouldn't have came. riley this was a dumb idea."

"josh." my voice was weak.

josh turned around and faced me. i smiled at him.

"you came for me?"

"of course i did, remember broken people stay together." josh chuckled at that.

"well don't just stand there, hug me." I laugh.

josh gives me a huge hug.

"please don't do that again, you scared me."

"im fine."

"im gonna go and eat noodles. peace." riley held up a peace sign before running out of the room.

i laugh, that's my best friend.

"so josh, you came all this way to see me?"

"i promised you we'd met, didn't i?"

i nod while grinning like an idiot.

"maya, can i ask you something?"

"mhm."

"will you be my heartbreak girl."
