riley was sitting in the bay window when maya arrived. her legs were crossed and her face sitting in her hands.

"welcome maya, have a seat."

maya sat down beside her best friend sitting in the same position.

"so what's wrong?"

"josh. i'm just so confused you know? one minute i just want to hug him and be by his side at every waking moment. the next minute i want to ignore him for no reason. i just hate this feeling."

riley looked at her best friend. maya's eyebrows were furrowed together, her eyes closed and her mouth in a pout.

"peaches, you're in love."

"love? how do i love him if i don't know what love is?"

"maya i may only be fourteen and dating a stale piece of white bread but i know a few things, i watch a lot of tv shows."

"so what is love?"

"love is when ever you heart beats really fast when you're around that person. love is when you can't stop smiling when they are mentioned. your heart hurts when you aren't near then and you lose your breath when they come back. they make you happy even when you're down. you care for them and never want them hurt. love takes time maya and you and josh have waited for ever."

"riley i don't know what to say, thank you."

"well you know, i'm wise words riley. i should become a therapist."

"awe, i love you riles."

"well what are still doing here, go tell josh you love him."
