Max's POV

I struggled to get out of the corridor where the lab was so Sena wouldn't find me and bring me back to the lab. I needed to help the group and find Jamie and Judith, I don't think Rick could do both at the moment.

When I reached outside, I saw the outermost fence being attacked by maybe a hundred or two hundred walkers. Most of the group was trying to clear them, I was watching in awe, I couldn't believe there was that many. I then heard growling to my side and I knew it was a walker, when it tried to attack me, I ducked, knowing I didn't have the strength to push it away. So it fell, and when it was on the ground, it turned its head and revealed that it was one of the sick people who turned. I coughed violently but managed to take my knife out and stab him in the head, ending it in the most peaceful way I could in the moment. I left it there, I tried to scope the area for any evidence that Jamie or Judith could have been here. I spotted the tower and slow jogged my way there, I opened the door and walked up the stairs,

"Jamie?"

I then saw both of them, Jamie was sitting with Judith in her arms. I opened my mouth to say something but I then heard a huge busting noise come from the yard, I ran to where the yard was visible from in the cell tower and saw that the fence had broke. I felt my heart sink, I didn't know whether Rick was okay or not,

"Max!" I heard Jamie exclaim in an excited tone, I couldn't look away from the sight in the yard, Jamie hugged my leg.

"Jamie, you have to stay here and make sure that Judith doesn't leave, okay? You cannot open that door downstairs unless it's a person from the prison, okay?" I asked her, she looked scared, I picked her up and kissed her cheek, I then hugged her,

"What's going on?" She asked, she started to cry, I sighed, my heart breaking. I couldn't deal with this now, I had to help the others.

"Jamie, I'll be fine if you listen to what I told you." I say into her eyes. She nodded, I set her down. I ran down the steps and before I opened the door, the little window at eye height showed walkers passing by. I swore, I was terrified, I didn't know what to do.

I then got an idea, I ran up the steps,

"Jamie, I want you to take Judith in the closet-- you lock the doors and don't come out, no matter what you hear." I say. Jamie nods and sniffles, she took Judith's carrier and went in the closet, I pressed my ear against the door, wanting to know if she locked it,

"Did you lock it, sweetie?"

I heard a click, knowing she locked it for sure,

"I think so."

"Okay, just remember, whatever you hear me say... Or scream... Do not get out, okay?" I asked her. She says yes, I close my eyes and prepare myself for what I was about to do. I then go down the steps and see through the tiny window that walkers were still coming by. I started to hear gunfire now, I had a little bit more faith now that I knew others were still okay. I took a deep breath and opened the door, four walkers took notice, I let them in, as they climbed the stairs after me, I stabbed one by one in the head as I remained above them from being a few steps ahead. This way made it easier to kill them, but I didn't think about the dead bodies being in the way, I tried to move them to the side but more walkers spilled in. They tripped over the bodies, I still had some advantage but not a lot. I was struggling against three now, once I killed the three, there were about seven now. I began to panic, I didn't know what to do. I started to run up the stairs, ignoring the burning in my lungs the best that I could, once I reached the top of the cell tower, I had more space to work with. Three came up at a time, I managed to kill them for awhile until more and more started piling in. I was about to stab one, but another grabbed me. And in that moment, I had a freak adrenaline rush kick in, and just as if I was a quarterback, I rammed the walker all the way to where the railing was in the tower and pushed him off. I watched as it fell, it laid there for moments, I couldn't see what happened next since more started to attack me. I stabbed two in the head as they were about to push me off the railing. I was starting to get helpless as the numbers didn't seem to die down, I looked behind me and saw that I could climb outside the railing and swivel my way to the other side of the deck where the walkers were scarce. I climbed over it and did just that, some followed me but I managed to kill around four. Eventually I kept doing this until there were two left, I killed the one and then the final one, I swung my arm to the side and dove the knife straight into the side of its skull. It fell with a thud. There I stood in a room with maybe thirty walkers, all dead. It took about an hour to kill all of them, but I did it.

Rick's POV

I stood there with the machine gun in my hands, looking over the hundred dead walkers on the ground. Carl gave a proud smile, I chuckled and patted him on the back.

"Nice job."

He smiles at me, I stood there for another few moments, thanking God that I survived that, and that my son did too. But all of a sudden I heard Sena yell behind me,

"Rick! Rick!" I turn to see her rushing out of the prison, she looked frantic,

"What?"

"Max- max, she escaped. I don't know where she went- I turned around and she was gone." She explained. I started to feel worried, I ran past her and hollered her name. I then saw the cell tower's door open with a few dead walker bodies in the entrance. I ran up to it, I peeked inside and saw that there were no alive walkers but many dead ones all over the steps. I walked past all of them and once I got to the observation deck, I saw maybe 20 to thirty dead walkers on the ground, someone must've killed these all by hand. I then snapped from my thoughts and saw a small body with red hair, I knew it was max. I ran over to her, praying she wasn't dead or a walker. I checked her pulse, she had one, I started to shake her body.

"Max!" I yelled, I didn't know what happened to her. I then saw that she was covered in blood, it wasn't her own because she didn't have any wounds. I then saw her dagger to the side, it was covered in blood and so were her hands. I looked around, I determined she must've killed all of them herself. I yelled for Sena, knowing she must've passed out from killing all of the walkers. As I waited for her, I pulled her shirt up to see if she had any walker bites or scratches. I examined her torso, arms, legs, and neck and shoulders- nothing. Sena came up,

"Oh my god- what the hell happened here?"

I turned around and saw her with Derek. He was covered in blood from killing walkers with the group and I. They both came over, Sena checked her pulse and her eyes,

"I think she's just unconscious, we need to get her back inside and on fluids. Did she do all of this?" Sena asked while looking around. I shrugged,

"I think so."

I then heard a small voice come from behind us, I see the closet door rattle and with that came out Jamie holding Judith in her baby carrier.

"Rick?" Her small voice made me cry, I went over to them, I kissed Jamie on the cheek and hugged her, so happy that I knew she was okay. I then set her down and picked up judith, I kissed her and teared up,

"Let's go see if everyone else is okay." Sena says, she looked happy to know that everyone was okay so far; except for the fact that max was unconscious but I knew she would wake up.

She has to...
