"I'm going." I say to Rick as he was packing up guns and making a place for Randall to sit in the car when they send him on his way. The plan was him and Shane drop Randall off and come back,
"You already know what I'm going to say, why do you keep asking?" He asked tiredly, he looked up at me with dull eyes, then he returned to loading his gun
"I proved that I can help on runs- I fixed his leg-"
"You brought an outsider inside... That's what you did."
I almost lost it when he said that, man he was such a dick sometimes
"Hershel is the one that wanted him to come along with us- if it was up to me, I would've left him." I say bluntly. His eyes looked up at me, he smiled now looking down
"What?" I asked, I wasn't appreciating his attitude even though he was adorable when he smiled
"You can't go, those feelings I told you about, they haven't gone away." He walked next to me, he then looked into my eyes, as if he was searching for something
"Stay safe." He said, he then walked away to the house.
Rick's POV
Shane and I got into the car, I waved at Lori who was standing a few yards away, she then walked away. I sighed, she was always upset with me. I then saw Max who smiled at me from afar, I smiled back. She then kept her gaze on me, her smile was turning into a trusting look, which to me gave me the idea that she was saying don't die out there, dickhead
I smiled a little to myself and then drove off, I started to talk about what my plans were for the winter. I talked to him about getting snowmobiles to get supplies just in case if we had a bad winter. I looked at him since he wasn't saying anything. He was looking out the window, I stopped the car and got out, he followed me out.
"I need you to talk with you about some things, Shane." I say. He looks at me, his eyes showed that he was nervous as to why I had him get out of the car to talk. He instead shrugged
"What about, man?" He tried his best to act cool and oblivious, I clenched my jaw and caught him in a stare
"I know about you and Lori," once he saw me say that, he looked sick. He was about to say something when I cut him off, "I understand that you thought I was dead.. She thought I was dead. But she said she thought you were dangerous."
I paused, he was barely keeping eye contact with me. He looked ashamed
"That is my wife, the is my son, and that is my unborn child. Ain't nothing getting in the way of that-"
"You can't be the good guy and expect to live anymore." He says
"I'd do anything- anything to keep Carl safe." I say into his eyes. The air between us was intense.
"You won't be dangerous, Shane. Not to me or anyone else in our group. That's the only way we can move on from this together, if we forget about all of this and move on." I say. He looks at me and doesn't say anything. I knew that was the only response I was getting out of him. We both got into the car and continued on.
We decided a place that was 18 miles away from the farm. It was a school, I went in the trunk and got Randall out, dragging him in the back where the buses were held. I pushed him to the ground, ignoring his pleads to let him come with us. I dropped a knife a few feet away from him so he could figure out to get away.
"Please, man- guys, come on. I know Maggie for God's sake!"
We both froze when we heard him say that. Shane looked at me
