"Are you sure that's where you left her?" Daryl asked as we all stood in the watering hole, trying to find Sophia.
"I left her right here. I drew that walkers way off in that direction up the creek." Rick explained, pointing in a direction.
"She was gone by the time I got back here. I figured she took off and ran back to the group. I told her to go that way," he pointed towards the highway. "And keep the sun on her left shoulder." He was growing more and more worried. I watched him as he nervously looked around. I knew he felt guilty, anyone would, but this was Rick. He was the most honorable man I ever met. I couldn't bare seeing him like this.
"Assuming she knows her left from her right." Shane added negatively. He was above us, looking around for any kind of tracks.
"Shane, she understood me fine." Rick said frustratedly
"Kid's tired and scared, man. She had her close call with two walkers. Got to wonder how much of what you said stuck." Shane kept going. Rick didn't say anything and looked away.
"Got clear prints right here. She did like you said, headed back to the highway." Daryl said, "let's spread out, make our way back."
"Hey, we gonna find her." Shane said helping Rick up, Rick turned to look at me as I tried to get up, ready to help me but Shane stepped in before and helped me up
"Here you are, darlin." He said charmingly, making me smile. Shane smiled and walked ahead of us. Rick was looking at me in a way that said he didn't like that. My smile wore off.
"She'll be tuckered out in a bush somewhere." Shane hollered back to Rick who was right behind him.
Daryl led us, clearly knowing what he was doing. Then Glenn who was just like me, doomed without the three guys. Then Shane, Rick and I. Daryl was slowly approaching tracks up ahead
"She was doing just fine till right here." Daryl said, "all she had to do was keep going. She veered off that way."
"Why would she do that?" Glenn asked
"Maybe she saw something that spooked her, made her run off." Shane said
"A walker?"
Daryl shook his head,
"I don't see any other footprints. Just hers."
"So what do we do? All of us press on?" Shane asked
"No, better if max and Glenn head up to the highway. People are gonna start panicking-"
"Here we go again." I mutter, pissed he was sending me off once again. "Why is it always me?" I asked in a loud voice. He sighed and looked away, Shane stood up, watching us.
"Why do you want to stay anyway?" Shane asked me suspiciously. I looked at him
"Why can't I?"
He shrugged and looked at Rick
"What's the problem?"
"She can't stay, Shane." Rick said in a frustrated tone
"Why don't you like having her along? She's a good caboose." Shane said looking at me now, "I taught her how to shoot and she can keep us alert."
"She can keep the group alert- no one is there right now." Rick said
"Fine, you know what? Okay. Come on, Glenn." I say giving up. Shane looked at me as I walked away. Glenn followed.Shane's POV
"Why do you always send her off like that?" I asked Rick as we walked further out. Daryl was leading. Rick looked at me
"What do you mean?"
"Don't act stupid, man. You always do it." I say. He then looked around, he pursed his lips like he always does when he has to answer a hard question. He looked around, surveying the area, then looked at me.
"'She annoy you or something?" I asked
"No, just, personality thing or something."
He didn't notice at first, but I was smirking at him, thinking he had a hard on for her.
"What?"
"She's like 20 man-"
"Oh my god- I didn't say that." He says smiling, amused at my accusation. He looked away, still smiling.
"Then what is it?"
He shrugged
"She's young. I guess I just think she's too immature."Max's POV
"What was that all about?" Glenn asked after a few minutes of trudging through the woods. I looked back at him, he was looking at me.
"What was that whole cuddling with Sena thing about? How about that?" I asked him. He turned red and looked away
"You saw that?" He asked
"Yeah, I did."
"I dunno, she's just.. Cool."
I looked at him
"I thought you were mad at her."
"I'm.. I don't know, she won't tell me something."
"What?"
"I don't know, she just won't tell me something and it's bothering me."
"Maybe it's bothering her." He suggested. I looked at him, thinking he had a point.
..
"Oh! Oh my god! Where is she?!" Carol exclaimed once she saw us come from the woods. I looked up, I shook my head
"Daryl, Rick, and Shane are still finding her." I say, I get up on top of the little hill where the rail was. I climbed over it
"Why aren't we all looking for her?" She asked
"We have to keep moving, so when we find her, we can go." Glenn said. I then see Sena approach us. I looked at her, she had Jamie with her. Jamie watched me as I tried to smooth talk everyone and keep them calm.
"For now, we look for supplies to hold us over for the night." I say
"The night?! She can't-"
"Carol, they will find her. We're all on your side." I say into her eyes, Lori then places her hands on carol's shoulders, guiding her away from me.
"My husband will not stop looking until he finds her..." I hear her say to carol as they walked off. I watched and rolled my eyes. Everyone left me except Sena and Jamie
"You know what? Don't tell me. All I know is that it's stupid to be fighting in this world now about gossip. Okay?" I say to Sena. She looked at me with a dead stare
"What I'm mad about isn't just gossip or something I can brush off." She said in a tone that cut like daggers
"Why can't you just tell me?!" I yelled as they walked away from me. She ignored me, leaving me alone.
