Kaylin Dark
Barry stopped just as Lisa finished speaking. Kaylin's eyes were wide and Cisco was fuming. Cisco went to punch Barry when Kaylin sped over and got in front of them, with Cisco ending up punching her. I cringed. "Well this escalated quickly," Harry said calmly. I scowled and lunged for Lisa when Caitlin held me back.

"Kaylin, no!" she yelled. I struggled against her grasp as Lisa winked before walking out of the Cortex. "What the hell?" I had calmed down since she was gone and Kaylin was still clutching her jaw.

"What the fuck, Cisco?" Kaylin screeched. There was blood on her lip and cheek. Damn. Cisco really threw a punch. Caitlin took Kaylin to get cleaned up and Harry followed after them. That had left Barry, Cisco, and I in the Cortex. Alone.

"Is what Lisa saying true?" Cisco asked, fists clenched at his side. Barry looked to me and I let my gaze drop to the ground. Cisco shook his head. "I'm going to go make sure that Lisa gets out safely. I don't want to see either of you when I get back."

"But I didn't do anything!" I yelled after him. It was no use. Cisco blamed both of us because I'm a huge part in it.

"Kaylin, I'm sorry. I didn't think anyone would find out," Barry said, quickly walking over to me. I shook my head. "Kaylin," he whispered.

"The last time I had spoken to you when we were married was a fight. My original mission from my father was to kill you. We ended up falling in love. On Flash Day when we were both up on stage he had outed the original plan and my identity. You slapped me across the face. We argued. We screamed, shouted, spat insults at each other. I was just given the mission from the company I worked for to go back in time and change my father. I regretted the words I said to you, and I knew that you would never fall for me since Iris was in this world. But who knew that Kaylin could be right?" I said. Barry shook his head.

"What are you saying?" he asked. I shrugged.

"Maybe my feelings for you aren't completely gone. Maybe I still love you." Little did I know that Cisco was standing right outside of the doorway of the Cortex, listening to our whole conversation. And the worst part? He saw Barry kiss me on the lips. And I never pushed Barry away. Instead I wrapped my arms around his neck as he pulled me closer to him. This cost me my engagement with Cisco. But was it worth it? Do I love Barry? Was the ring clouding my feelings for who I really love? Suddenly the shouting voices of Harry and Kaylin Wells made us jump apart.

"You just wanted to kill him and now you're making out with him?" Harry yelled.

"You don't control my life!" Kaylin screamed back. Barry chuckled.

"Seems like we aren't the only ones with a forbidden love," he joked. I cracked a smile.

"Ah, shit. You made me smile," I teased. I saw Cisco standing the doorway, frowning. I sighed and walked over to him. "I guess this means the engagement is off," I said. He nodded. I placed the ring in his hand. "I'll get my stuff out soon. I promise."

"I thought you were different, Kaylin," he said with a shake of his head. I sighed again and looked to the ground.

"So did I, Cisco. So. Did. I." Cisco walked away and Barry wrapped an arm around my shoulders.

"This feels wrong yet so right," Barry whispered. I nodded.

"Yeah. It does." I frowned again. "I just feel bad for Cisco, you know? If it weren't for Lisa then he wouldn't be so heartbroken." Barry nodded and shrugged.

"Yes. But if it weren't for Lisa then you could've married the wrong guy. Obviously you don't love Cisco that way. I think that ring was clouding your judgment," Barry said. I nodded and smiled a bit.

"That was a fucking nice ring, though. Shiny, too. I guess it's the shiny things," I said. Barry kissed my head and picked me up, speeding out of the Cortex to Joe's house.

Once he set me down we were standing in the kitchen, alone. "You said that the last time you saw me in the future we fought. And that I slapped you. Was I...abusive?" Barry asked quietly as we sipped coffee from mugs. I shook my head, setting down my coffee.

"No. You were the best husband anyone could ask for. I kept a huge secret from you and you lost it. I don't blame you, though. But if I could go back to the future to change it, I would. I would've told you from the beginning. I don't know if it would affect how everything is now. Maybe I would have declined that offer and we just defeated my father together. I was the Scarlet Savior and you were the Scarlet Speedster. Everyone knew we were married, they just didn't know our identities. But I'm sure it didn't take long to piece it together after my father outed my identity," I explained. Barry nodded.

"I noticed that you don't ever say his name. You just call him your father. Why? You can't change what happened," he said. I chuckled.

"Actually I probably can I just don't know how. And I just don't like to speak his name. He murdered your mother and didn't give me a very good childhood. My childhood was restarted at age 13 here. I prefer the one with my father better," I told Barry. He sighed and took another sip of his coffee as the door opened.

"Hey. I heard what happened. Kaylin, are you okay?" Joe asked. I nodded as he and Iris walked over to us.

"Yeah. I guess Kaylin Wells was right after all. Maybe Cisco and I aren't meant to be together." I saw Iris and the way she stared at Barry. And maybe I'm not meant to be with Barry either. But I didn't dare utter those words out loud. I had already caused enough of a mess. "I think I'm gonna go get some sleep. I-" The front door flung open and suddenly I was whisked away by the one and only Zoom.
