Chapter One
My first audition for the X-Factor went very well. I got through to the Judges' Houses, but was put together to form a band with four other boys: an Irish boy called Niall Horan and three English boys called Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles and Liam Payne. Harry came up with the name One Direction. We were put through the Judges' Houses to the Live Shows. That was a nerve-wracking time - and soon came the final.
Me and the boys were riding high. Guys wanted to be us and girls wanted to be with us. In some ways, we had gotten cocky; we thought we would win.
You couldn't imagine our disappointment at coming third place. I thought 1D would split and I'd go back to being boring old Zayn Malik - but I was quickly proved wrong. Simon Cowell signed us up for our debut album; we were on our way to the top!
It was when we began the X-Factor Live Tour that the boys decided to spill their secrets within the group. Secrets that bonded our group like the welding of five steel bars.

We were sat in the living area of the tour bus, alone, when Louis suddenly cleared his throat and prepared himself to speak.
"OK guys, we made it through X-Factor and now we're on the Live Tour. It's clear from our contract that the band's gonna be going places; basically, we're all gonna be working together for a long, LONG time. I want to start our official professional career off honestly, so I have a secret that I wanna tell you guys. You might not believe me but here it goes... I'm a wizard."
