Chapter Fourteen

For the next few days, I did nothing but watched. I wanted to talk to the guys - excluding Zayn - about what Lena did, but I couldn't find an appropriate time; the love birds were always with us.

Whenever Lena looked at me, her smile dropped from her face. I returned her glare with a passion. I hated her almost as much as I hated Liam.

And then there was that amazing moment. The guys and I were watching TV whilst Zayn and Lena were in their room when the two came prancing out, Zayn's muscley arm draped over Lena's bare shoulders in her short, strapless red dress. They smiled over to us happily as they made their way to the door. We watched them, confused, until Zayn noticed, released Lena and turned back to us.

"We are going out," Zayn explained, throwing his arms out wide for no obvious reason.

"Duuh," Louis cried.

"On a date?" I asked, ignoring him.

Zayn nodded enthustiastically. "Don't worry, guys - we won't be back late."

This was my chance! If I didn't tell the guys now, when would I?

I stood up, a fake smile plastered on my face, and herded the couple to the door whilst babbling, "No, you guys go, have a great time! Don't worry about us - stay out as long as you like! You guys just worry about what dessert you want after your meal!" I laughed heartily as I guided them out of the door.

Zayn seemed rather taken aback. "Well, uh, thanks, Harry, I guess," he stammered. "We'll be back in a couple hours."

I virtually slammed the door on them and squinted through the peep hole in the door. I watched Lena demand something from Zayn, a look of confusion plastered on her face. Zayn shrugged before settling his arm round her again and making his way down the hall, their hands intertwined.

I resisted the urge to gag as I turned to the boys, whose eyes were glued to the television. I bounded over to the remote and switched off the glowing screen, drawing insults from the guys.

"Hey!" complained Niall.

"We were watching that!" moaned Louis.

"Git," muttered Liam. I ignored their protests, grabbed a chair and sat in front of the TV, watching the boys closely. Their expressions merged from anger to curiosity.

"I have to tell you guys something," I began, swallowing hard.

"What about?" questioned Niall.

"Lena," I answered. Louis sighed loudly.

"You told me this," he reminded me. "It's nothing!"

"No," I snapped. My voice softened. "Just listen." I told them about following Lena at 3am, getting into the elevator, threatening her, her retaliation - everything. When I finished, they were silent for a long while.

Just when I thought I would burst from anticipation, Louis spoke in a serious tone, "Harry..." as his question progressed his seriousness slipped, "how much had you had to drink that night?" He finished with a burst of laughter, which was quickly picked up by Niall and Liam.

I felt my face flush red and I clenched my fists. "I'm telling the truth!" I snapped furiously. This only made them laugh harder.

When they finally stopped, Niall wiped a tear from the corner of his eye and turned to me, a smile lingering on his tomato-red face. "Harry," he managed between giggles, "I think you just imagined it. There is nothing wrong with Lena! Now, I'm tired," - at this Louis and Liam nodded, yawning and stretching in agreement - "so I think we should go to bed. Don't focus on Zayn and Lena, OK? Just relax and enjoy your evening."

They all bid me goodnight and disappeared into their bedrooms. I huffed and crashed back onto the couch. Was I overreacting? Perhaps I was just paranoid - with good reason, though! My past hasn't exactly been a 'trust and love everyone you meet' fest!

I sighed and watched the ceiling whilst listening to faint snores from the guys' bedroom. After about an hour, I got up and went to the bathroom. I looked at what I was wearing - blue jeans and a red t-shirt - and shook my head. I left the bathroom and found other clothes: black trousers, a black short-sleeved shirt, a black jacket and black trainers. I changed using vampire speed and headed back to the bathroom to touch up my hair before silently creeping out the door and leaving the penthouse suite.

Based on the last time I did this, I decided against the elevator and used the stairs, almost flying down them at vampire speed once more. When I reached the ground floor, I made my way to the hotel restaurant and located Zayn and Lena. There was a giant ice-cream sundae between them and Zayn lifted up a large spoonful and carefully put it into Lena's mouth, who closed her mouth and smiled as she chewed and swallowed. She then proceeded to do the same for Zayn.

I guess it was just a normal date. I shooky head and chuckled at my stupidity, resolving to go back upstairs and watch some TV.

When I turned around, a black bag was quickly put over my head. I thrashed around wildly at where I thought my attacker was, but it was no use. I felt a sharp pain in my neck where a needle was stuck in and I was injected with something. Within seconds I had fallen into a dark void.

A/N So sorry for the tardiness of this update, guys! Not sure when the next one will come but I'll try to bring it out within a week.

Anyone got any suggestions on who should be cast as Lena? So far, I'm thinking Stana Katic but she's not quite... right. Any suggestions, I would be grateful to receive :)
