Chapter Eleven || Chloe's POV

The picture in the multimedia is Chloe looking gorgeous in Oxygen (my favourite photoshoot of the girls). For some reason I couldn't find a non-edited version, so I got that one of Tumblr. It's a bit coloured/textured, so credit to whoever did that :P

Just to warn you this chapter is a bit crazy ; ) This chapter is what happens when I'm alone, with my family only, in a house in the country for ten days. I was missing my friends, online and offline, so much, so this chapter of weirdness is what I came up with. So sorry for the slow updates by the way, I'm being very lazy.***

I'm so excited that Josh has finally asked me out!!! It's all I've been able to think about since I got his text. I said yes, of course. I'm so glad I'm friends with Paigey now too so that she can share my excitement and give me advice. It's the first time I've ever been asked out by a boy too, discounting when someone gave me a Valentine and asked me to marry him back when I was about five, so it's pretty major. I have to tell Autie!!

Oh no. Paige and I forgot to leave her a message...

Every time I try to talk to Autumn she turns away and acts like she hasn't heard me. If she doesn't want me to apologise, what's the point in trying?

I text Josh until about midnight, not even bothering to hide my iPhone under the covers since no one else is trying to sleep. Paige is sitting on Maddie's bed, and although I feel a spark of jealousy I ignore it.

I realise that I was completely overreacting before. I don't own Paige. She can do whatever she wants and to be honest spending time with Maddie, who she's known for years, is not a crime. I was being stupid, and I'm so lucky Paige forgave me.

I notice that Maddie has her iPhone out and is reading texts, and I have an amazing idea. I text Paige:

CHLOE: About to prank Mads ;) Just go with it! xoxo

I get one back almost straight away:

PAIGE: Can't wait! Ur pranks are always awesome :D Get her good!! xxxxxxxxxx

I look over at the two of them and Paigey gives me a secret thumbs up behind Maddie's back.

What I've realised is that Maddie doesn't have my new number. I changed it just before I came to boarding school because somehow an advertising company got hold of it and I got at least ten texts a day advertising double-glazing.

So I'm gonna text her, pretending to be some creepy guy, playing on events that have actually happened. Like the time she got a fever at Brooke's 13th and had to go lay down. When she woke up she couldn't remember anything of the night before. Hey, this could work to my advantage!

I grin and start writing a text to her.

CHLOE: Hello Madison.

MADS: Um... who is this? Luv ya, Maddie xoxo

I almost laugh at her automatic signature. Good thing I thought about disabling mine. I check on Maddie and sure enough she's frowning at her phone, with Paige looking over her shoulder. Paige winks at me.

CHLOE: I'm Mitchell, the guy you met at Brooke's 13th birthday party! Remember me?

MADS: No? Luv ya, Maddie xoxo

CHLOE: I'm the one who sat by your bedside all night and nursed you when you had that fever.

I grin evilly to myself. This prank is watertight. Only people who were at the party know about Maddie getting sick, so she must think that 'Mitchell' is actually real! When I check, Paige is silently cracking up behind Maddie. Maddie looks more than slightly worried.

MADS: How old are you? Luv ya, Maddie xoxo

CHLOE: 30. NOW do you remember me?

MADS: No???!!! Luv ya, Maddie xoxo

I get a text from Paige.

PAIGE: She's actually buying it LOL!!! She asked me if a guy sat with her after she had gotten sick and I said yes, he was one of the waiter guys hired for the party and he went up to take her ice for her forehead. OMG this is hilarious!

Maddie texts me again.

MADS: How did you get my number???Luv ya, Maddie xoxo

CHLOE: A little bird told me ; )

MADS: I'm going to block this number. I don't remember you and I have no idea who you are... Luv ya, Maddie xoxo

The automatic signature makes me snort loudly, but Maddie looks up so I turn it into a snore, nestling into my pillow like I'm asleep. Uh oh. I'm never gonna see the end of this. I'll be teased by Maddie for snoring for the rest of my life. Yay......

CHLOE: Wait, Madison! You swore to me after I spent the whole night looking after you that you'd marry me on your 13th birthday!

MADS: Oh. My God. I did what?! Luv ya, Maddie xoxo

"Omigod, Paige!" I hear Maddie whisper-scream. "Help!"

Paige texts me.

PAIGE: Nice work Chlo! Think you're giving her a heart attack tho. Wanna own up soon?

CHLOE: Soon. Just got one more pervy thing to say, give me a minute!

Maddie sends me a text.

MADS: I had a fever... I evidently wasn't thinking straight. You're... 30? Luv ya, Maddie xoxo

I send her the last text.

CHLOE: But you gave me your favourite red cherry necklace to seal our love!

Maddie lost her necklace that night, so this is perfect.

MADS: Look, I don't remember any of this and you're really, really scaring me, so please stop texting me before I call the police. Luv ya, Maddie xoxo

I nearly laugh out loud as I send:

CHLOE: Gotcha!!! Chloe (Mitchell) xoxo

I hear Maddie's phone buzz. I hear Paige start to cackle loudly.

"CHLOOOEEE!" Maddie shrieks, and I burst out laughing, ducking the pillow which gets flung at me from across the room.
