Elizabeth Williams
~~~When the male finally woke up, he scrambled to his feet. I had been laying on the ground looking at him before he woke. I slowly got up but I didn't take my eyes off of him.
He let out a low growl warning me to get out of here. I was stunned. Did this wolf really think this was his territory? I let out a loud threatening growl of my own and stood tall, hovering over him. He needed to know who he was messing with.
The wolf started to shrink down with his tail in between his legs and almost looked scared. Satisfied, I backed away, letting him get up.
All the sudden, he snarled at me and lunged. I saw it coming and moved out of the way so I could bite his shoulder. He yelped and his eyes filled with pain. When he lunged again, he managed to scratch my back, his claws digging just deep enough to draw blood.
I ignored the pain and tackled him to the ground where I pinned him down and held his neck between my jaws gently. He struggled to get loose but that only made my grip tighten. Once he'd stopped, I let go and he laid on the ground looking at me in awe and surprise.
I barked for him to get up. He did and I noticed his fur was a light grey with a cream underbelly which matched his eyes perfectly. I also realized he was bigger than an average wolf but still smaller than me.
The wolf realized this the same time I did and our eyes widened. We were both the same species. He smiled but for some reason I started to run away. I knew he was following me so I ran faster.
I was headed towards the local wolf pack around here, hoping that I could loose him.
