--Tyler's P.O.V--
I wasn't ready for what was about to happen. The screams, the pain, the blood. I didn't think I would ever witness a girl giving birth before in my life, but I guess it was time.
Pierre and I were at Courtney's head, trying to comfort her. Orginally, she wanted Pierre, Ginger, and I in the room, but since Ginger refused at the last minute, Nick took her place.
He was off to the side, giving a pep talk when necessary, which seemed to be every minute or so.
The doctor looked up at Pierre and I, signaling for us to grab a hold of Courtney's hands.
"Here it comes. I can see the head and it looks like it has a whole head of hair too," the doctor smiled.
"Do you hear that, mon amour?" Pierre asked, softly. "Our baby has a full head of hair. Normally that doesn't happen. It shows that our baby is going to be very special."
Courtney smiled, weakly, her breath coming out in pants, occasionally hitching in her throat from what I assumed was pain.
I've learned so many good things about Nick today. It was hard to believe. Whether he was grossed out or not, he always did what he had to do. He was good at comforting everybody, whether it was a girl going to labor or a boy that loved a girl, but couldn't have her. Nick could find the bright side in everything no matter how bad the situation was.
I honestly believed he could do well working with kids too.
"Once this baby becomes a toddler, Courtney, you're so letting me babysit it," Nick remarked.
I chuckled as the doctor put Courtney's legs into the stirrups attached to the side of the bed. That's when she started crying really hard, the tears racing down her cheeks to her chin.
"Calm down, mon amour," Pierre cooed. "It's alright. Everything's alright."
She shook her head. "I can't do this, Pierre. I'm not ready to have a baby."
Sobs were shaking her whole body, causing the doctor to threaten to give her a shot to calm her down.
"Courtney, sweetie, almost every girl on this Earth has a baby at one time or another. It doesn't matter if you're younger than everyone else. You are doing this just fine."
"Just a couple more big pushes and it's out, so you need to get ready, okay?" The doctor said.
"Not long now, not long at all," I whispered to her, squeezing her hand as hard as I could. "You are almost there, sweetheart."
"Honey, you're doing so well," Nick added. "You're being so brave. Not everyone is this brave when it's their first born child."
"Give me another good push!" The doctor yelled from the foot of the bed. "Get ready, it's almost here!"
Pierre and I tightened our grip on both of hands. Both of us smiling from ear to ear.
"Breathe," we told her. I took a deep one myself. "Breathe, sweetie."
Courtney Annabel Akehurst braced herself against Pierre and I, her hand twisting ours with the strongest grip she had used all night. I watched her face swallow her eyes, her mouth fall open, as she pushed harder than she had all night, with every bit of energy she had left.
This was actually happening.
"Here it comes, Courtney, it's coming. Oh, look at that." The doctor was grinning from the end of the bed, excitement glittering in her eyes. "Wait, no, this isn't supposed to be happening!"
