you pulled her aside the other day.
you wanted to know why she was so upset at you.
you needed to understand what you did wrong so you could fix it.
she said that there was no way you could fix this.
you stared into her eyes and she didn't know what to do.
you grew frustrated. you only wanted to help her.
her heart raced when you grabbed her hand.
her breathing was rigid and she couldn't move.
you affected her so much that it scared her.
"please talk to me. I want things to go back to how they were." you said.
she just shook her head saying "they can never go back since they were screwed up back then too."
she wiped the tears that barely escaped her eyes and tried walking away.
you didn't what to do.
you were so angry. your mind was fuzzy and your eyes hurt.
without thinking you spewed ugly words at her.
you didn't mean to say anything but they wouldn't stop.
you told her how you always thought of her as baggage.
how, when you were kids you pitied her so you became her friend.
with every heart beat she felt pain.
she couldn't believe you were saying such awful things about her.
you couldn't stop when you said that you used to like her.
her eyebrows shot up and her eyes widened.
you liked her.
you went on to say how that was years ago and that you didn't feel a single thing for her anymore.
how you loved her and nothing would change that.
with those words her eyes grew watery again.
she wiped her tears trying to stay strong in front of you.
she didn't know what she did to deserve this.
