you stood by your phone, waiting for her to text you.
you had been waiting for 3 days and you grew impatient.
your mood dropped everyday that she didn't answer.
you even asked him if he knew.
he brushed you off and ignored you, clearly done with your bullshit.
she knew that she couldn't stay mad at you forever but she didn't want to regret her decision later.
finally she made up her mind.
she text you, saying to meet her at the local park.
your hands were sweating as you closed your house door, and started slow jogging.
you made it to the park before her, making sure that you didn't look like you ran there.
she walked towards you in her favorite sweater. you saw that she had your old sweatshirt in her hands.
your heart dropped. you didn't know what you would do if she hated you.
she walked up with a sullen face.
"hey" she said. "i know that your sorry and i forgive you. i tried so hard to hate you but i couldn't. i've spend too long loving you that it seems impossible. i just can't do this anymore. i can't see you everyday and pretend that i don't love you. i can't see you with her and not feel a sting in my heart. i can't be your best friend that's always by your side. i need to see who i am without you. i'm tired of living in your shadow. and im sorry too. i'm sorry for letting things get this far. i just hope you understand."
she handed you your old sweatshirt. this seemed like such a sad moment but you didn't feel any sadness.
you knew that this was the best thing to do. you knew that you couldn't make things go back to the way they were.
a single tear escaped her eyes and she let it go.
"this isn't goodbye. this is just a new start. i promise that we'll still talk but i don't want to live the life i used to live." She said.
you hugged her as you both let little tears go down your face.
"i'm glad that you met him. he seems like a nice guy." you said.
she smiled and said thank you.
from there you went your separate ways.
but you both knew that you didn't loose eachother.
you both still loved eachother, this was just a fork in the road and you each chose a different side.
This chapter is dedicated to etiquettelines so please go check out her stories. They are absolutely amazeballs.
