"I promise you'll be the first person I call.", Ethan said.
"How many weeks again?", you asked, looking down.
"5.", he said, blankly.
"Dude, our flight.", Grayson said, walking passed you guys. He looked at you and hugged you tightly. "I love you, kid."
You smiled and said, "Be safe, okay?"
You backed away from the hug and Grayson ran to their boarding flight.
"I guess I have to...", Ethan said, pointing to Grayson.
"Yeah, um...", he hugged you. Once you backed away, you saw tears fall from his eyes. "No. No, no. Okay? Look, you'll be fine and so will I. I love you alright?", you said, wiping his tears.
"Ethan! We gotta go!", Grayson yelled.
Ethan turned to him, then back at you. He kissed you. So passionately.
Then, ran away.
Leaving you there.
He didn't say he loved me. You said to yourself.
You put your head down and walked to your car.
You walked a few steps until Ethan pulled you back and said, "Wait." He paused and looked down. He grabbed something from his pocket, but you were too busy staring at him. He grabbed your hand and said, "Don't read it until you get home." He put a little box in your hand and closed it for you. He kissed you and ran the opposite direction.

@ your house // 30 minutes later
--You were in your bed. Staring at your hand. Which was still closed. You never opened it. You were just sitting in your bed with your laptop open, waiting for his facetime call. You finally opened your hand and found the box.
Suddenly, Ethan's contact picture came up. He was calling you.
You closed your hand quickly and looked up.
You answered.
"Hey Eth. How was your flight?", you asked, pulling you hair behind your ear.
"Did you open it yet?"
"My hand?"
"Yeah, well the box."
"No."
"Awesome. Hold on.", he said grabbing his phone and tapping on it. He pointed it to you.
"What are you doing?", you said, laughing.
"Saving your reaction. Open it, y/n."
You looked down and opened your palm. You saw the box and opened it. A piece of paper came first. It was folded horribly.
