As he drove you, you kind of grew weaker. You didn't know if it was a good thing that you couldn't feel or that it bother you as much.
Then, you got a text.
Grayson: hey I'm really sorry, can we talk about it tomorrow?
Grayson: just wanna talk
You didn't know whether to be sad or mad. You agreed anyway.
You: yeah.
You: if you want we can go to eat.
Grayson: yeah, just be ready by 12
You: you're not picking me up.
You: just tell me where we're meeting.
Grayson: omg no, let me pick you up
You: oh cause being a gentleman has clearly always been a priority
Grayson: please?
You: meet @ coffee corner on View Park Lane tomorrow
Grayson: picking you up @ 12
You: guess I won't be home at 12 :/ see you there bud.
You sigh and Ethan looks over at you, "Who's texting you?"
"Grayson."
"Really?"
"He wants to talk."
"You're gonna take him back?"
"I don't know," you shrugged, dropping your phone on your lap, "I think it's just to apologize and then tell me that she's different and that we were drifting, you know? That whole mess."
He nodded and we were outside my house, "I'll walk you in."
He parked the car and walked beside you, "Ethan, you don't-"
"Look, I just... I really don't want to lose you as a friend, you and Grayson are literally everything to me-"
"Ethan-"
"Look, I know I say this every time you fight, but I know you guys will get back together-"
"Not this-"
"Yes, this time. It's you and Gray. You always find a way."
You sigh at Ethan's kind words. That's what you always thought too. But see, this time felt different, it just didn't feel the same.
As you two get to your doorstep, you ask, "Wanna come in for-"
"Yes!", he says, you laugh and he calmly adds, "I mean, yeah, sure."
You open your door and find your parents sitting on the couch, "Hey babe," they yell, watching you walk in then Ethan, "and Ethan."
"Hi, Eth!"
"Hi, y/n's mom!"
Your dad gets up and shakes Ethan's hand, "How are you?"
