When Josh said he was going to try and put a stop to the bullying that was being done, he really meant it. He himself didn't like it but it was worse because Tyler was involved and the last thing Josh wanted to see was Tyler sad or hurt.

Josh had been confronting Brendon every time he did something and even talking back but nothing was really working. Now though? Now something was changing.

"Excuse me, Miss? Can I go to the bathroom?" Josh asked his science teacher. It was the last class of the day and he just felt like getting out of that stuffy classroom.

"Yes, take the pass." She accepted. Josh nodded and got his things and the pass then walked out the door.

As Josh was walking down the hallway, he saw Brendon by himself on the floor. Josh walked by him with hesitation, expecting to be called a couple demeaning words but he didn't get what he expected. Instead he got a look of sadness and tears that began pouring out from Brendon.

"Are you okay?" Josh asked, cautiously. He didn't know how Brendon got when he cried but, if it was anything like how he normally acted, he wouldn't want to be too close. He would be in too much risk of getting punch in the face, again. He kneeled down, putting a small bit of distance between them.

"Get out of here, Josh. I'm fine." Brendon snapped but Josh didn't go anywhere. Instead he sighed and sat down directly across from Brendon.

"No you're not. What's the matter?" Josh asked again. He was looking past all the hell Brendon has put him through and just wanted to help. After a while of Brendon not saying anything, just crying, Josh spoke up again. "You can talk to me, you know. When Tyler feels down, he says talking to me, and in general, always makes him feel better." After saying that Brendon cried harder.

"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to hurt your feelings! It's just that I want you to be okay and stuff, you know? Crying is sad to watch." Josh explained.

"I don't understand you..." Brendon muttered. Josh looked at him with confusion, signaling him to continue. "I don't understand how well you live. You have Tyler who is obviously your... Boyfriend that's a pretty awesome person then a cool mom who always looks out for you and on top of that... You're nice too! I don't fucking get it!" Brendon sobbed, stopping in-between for breaths.

"It's the obvious, huh?" Josh chuckled. "I don't know what to tell you, Brendon. It's just luck, I guess." He shrugged.

"Yeah and I don't get that either!" Brendon let out a cry, throwing his hands up in the air and toppling over on the floor. "I'm so mean to you yet, here you are, trying to make me feel better!" Be was now in a ball just crying his eyes out. Josh pouted and moved closer to him.

"Probably because I know you're not that bad of a person? Sure, you do this stuff to me that makes me feel bad and, to make matters worse, you do it to Ty too but in the end I forgive you. You seem troubled, no offense. I just feel like you let your anger out on the wrong things." He explained.

"Well what else am I supposed to do, Josh?" Brendon asked like he didn't have a clue in the world and, it was true; he didn't. Brendon was sitting up now, just sniffling. He was thankful his crying had come to a stop.

"I've heard you sing before! Your voice is killer, dude." Brendon gave a genuine smile. "There's a smile!" Josh said, laughing. Brendon smiled even wider and jokingly pushed Josh. "Seriously though. You should really practice that. Let your emotions out when you sing. Who knows, you might go somewhere."
