As some more school weeks went by, Josh and Tyler really started to see some results in the bullying coming to a stop. Sure, there were some comments made but Brendon made sure to put the offenders in check. Tyler was happy, for the most part, and so was Josh.
There was this one kid though, Justin, who would push and say some pretty disgusting things to Tyler mainly. He always did something extra when Brendon told him to stop too. It was almost as if he wasn't afraid of Brendon at all, which was actually really rare. Nonetheless, Tyler ignored him and kept living life with Josh.
"But why can't you just come home and do some stuff with me instead?" Tyler whined to Josh. He was walking Josh to his class before he went to his own.
"It's just a short paper then I'll be home to do whatever you want, okay?" Josh told Tyler, stopping before they got to the classroom. He knew teachers didn't like PDA in the halls.
"Fine... I love you." He pouted. Josh smiled.
"I love you too sweetheart. I'll see you at lunch." He told him, kissing his lips and walking into the classroom. Tyler sighed and began walking to his next subject when someone walked up next to him, slapping him on the ass.
"Excuse you!" He shouted, holding his butt.
"Excuse you." The boy smirked. Tyler recognized the person as Justin.
"Justin, please leave me alone." He groaned, pulling up his pants a bit and walking a bit faster so he'd be out of trouble.
"Okay, sweet cheeks. Have fun in class." He sang, walking away in the opposite direction. Tyler cringed at the name Justin called him but still shook it off and got to class before he was late.
It felt like forever until the period was over for Tyler but, when it was, he rushed out of class and went right to the lunch room. He just wanted to see Josh, he was't even hungry. He sat down at their regular table that he, Josh and Vic and Kellin usually sat at. Even though Vic was a junior, he still had the same lunch wave as them.
"Hey there, Ty. What's going on?" Kellin greeted, sitting down.
"Nothing much, you?"
"Same. Where's our boyfriends though, that's my question." Kellin chuckled. Tyler thought he and Vic were a cute couple.
"Look who's coming now." Tyler said, giddily. He saw Kellin laugh at his eagerness a bit but he was just happy to see Josh.
"Hey, guys." They said, sitting down. Vic slid down next to Kellin and kissed him while Josh practically sat on Tyler and hugged him tightly. He laughed and hugged him back.
"Hello, Josh!"
"You're not eating, babe?" Josh asked, sitting down next to his boyfriend.
"Nah, I'm not hungry." He shrugged.
"Alright." Josh settled. "So you guys-"
"Oh, that's no good, Ty. Eating lunch is a good thing you know." Someone piped up from the adjacent seat. Tyler loudly groaned and shooed the person away.
"Get out of here, Justin. For fuck's sake!" He put his head down. Josh furrowed his brow and put an arm on Tyler's back, feeling him calm down a bit.
"But where's the fun in that?!" He smiled, wickedly.
"Seriously, Justin? Don't be a pig. Just leave." Kellin spoke up. He didn't want Justin there just as bad as Tyler. He knew he was bad news from when he used to hang out with him back when he was in Brendon's "group.
"Ooh, Kelly's speaking up now. Your little boyfriend teach you to do that?" He said, clearly referring to Vic. "Remember when we used to hang out a bit, Kell? When you were-"
"Shut up, dick." He snapped.
"Look, Justin. Get the fuck out of here unless you want your ass beat, alright?" Vic stood up. He wasn't taller than him but he wasn't much shorter either.
"Alright, okay. Relax." He threw his hands up in defeat and stood up. "Later, Ty." He winked, walking off.
"What the fuck was that?" Josh said, defensively. He didn't like Justin and he hated the way he interacted with them. Especially Tyler.
"Listen, you guys really need to stay away from him, alright? I mean it. Justin is bad news for whomever he gets involved with. I don't want you guys falling victim." Kellin expressed. He got up and walked out with Vic chasing after him. They were left there in awe and, soon, the bell rang.
Josh and Tyler walked to class in an uncomfortable silence and Tyler didn't like it one bit. he looked over at Josh who appeared to be angry.
'I'm sorry, did I do something wrong?" He asked, stopping him in the hall. Josh looked at him and sighed.
"No, no. I'm just... thinking." He held Tyler's hand. "I don't want you walking home alone, alright? Kellin seemed pretty serious and... I just don't want you hurt or anything..." He looked down. He felt like he was being a bit irrational but he was worried. He knew something was wrong just by the way Justin composed himself around Tyler.
"Josh, listen okay? Everything will be fine. I know you're worried and, honestly, I'm flattered but try not to let that dipshit get in between us?" Tyler put his hands on Josh's cheeks and Josh held his wrists, nodding. "I love you a bunch, you know." He chuckled.
"I love you too." Josh replied, hugging him and holding him close before going inside so he could sit down and get the day over with. Though Tyler had convinced him, he was still on edge about the whole situation and wouldn't drop it yet.
---
"Make sure you call me when you get home? And be careful. Don't talk to anyone and be alert." Josh started to ramble.
"You want me to carry a bat? Turn on Where's my iPhone so you can find me if I don't call?" Tyler joked. Josh just frowned and shook his head.
"I know you don't want me worrying but I just don't want you hurt, you know that." He told Tyler.
"I know, I know. I'll call you, alright? Later, Joshy." He said, kissing his cheek and walking away. Josh sighed and held onto his phone. He couldn't be any more worried.
---
When Tyler was walking, he felt a bit... strange. He kept looking over his shoulder but figured Josh's nerves just passed on to him. He sighed and vowed to himself that this would be the last time he turned around and, when he did, he saw something. Someone. He immediately named the person as Justin and he was a bit freaked out. Justin had been bothering him for a few weeks and now he was following him home? He didn't like this one bit.
"What are you doing here, Justin? Leave me alone." Tyler said, stopping in his tracks. He saw Justin smile and walk towards him faster.
"Oh, relax, Tyler. I just wanted to talk to you." He said.
"About what?" Tyler said, stepping back a bit as Justin came face to face with him.
"Oh, nothing in particular." Justin replied. He grabbed onto Tyler's face and brought it closer to his. Tyler tried to move away from him but he gripped him tighter.
"Justin, leave me alone!" Tyler said anxiously, trying to pull back again. Before Tyler could try for a third time, Justin aggressively kissed Tyler and when he realized he wasn't kissing back and was crying instead, he became furious and threw Tyler to the ground.
Tyler started to cry and tried to back up while still on the ground. "What are you doing, Justin?!"
"Teaching you a fucking lesson, Tyler." He growled. Tyler looked at him, scared and confused. He went to say something but couldn't get anything out because, before he knew it, he was being punched dead in the face and the abuse wouldn't stop.
