"For God sake woman! I did not ravish you!"

Instead of being offended he seemed  concerned about her.

"Calm yourself ! I only meant to help you, not to insult you."

"Really?! Help me? If you really want to help me get the hell out of my sight!"

She screamed pushing him out the door.

"Alright! Alright woman! I'm going!"

He pucked up his bird and reshouldered his bag

"God help me! Women! Who knows what goes on your minds!
First you tell me I can't go, and then you throw me out like a dog!
I would have expected a little bit of gratitude from you, for taking care of you this past few days. But well..."

She screamed in bewilderment.

"How dare you?! How dare you... you... filthy... bastard! Leecher!
Randy Goat!
You expect me to thank you? Thank you for deflowering me?!
Then you'll be waiting till Satan's breath turns cold!"

He huffed in annoyance.

"I did not."
He said with growing anger
"Deflower you!
And if don't quiet yourself, little sweet, I will take you back to that bed and show you exactly what I did do to you!
That way you can judge it on your own."

"Get out!"
She shouted.
"Don't you dare ever touch me again!"

She crossed her arms on her chest protectively.

"And on your wait I commend you to send me up, one of your friends. Who stood up with you the other night.
Surely one of them will be chivalrous enough to help a lady in plight."

He just laughed at that.

"You are quite right, princess, any one of my friends would be more than happy to play the chivalrous knight to you, as fool as they are, but they are gone."

He said with a sarcastic smile.
But truth is, he was right.
He could clearly see Niall gladly following her around like a lost puppy.

"They left yesterday just as I should have done. And now I wish to God that I had!!
God knows what took me over to help you out!"

He drew in a breath and said more calmly.

"I fear you shall have to seek London on your own."

Rosaline froze, staring up at him in surprise, as though he has struck her.
Her face started to crumple and her eyes filled with tears.

"But I can't!"
She said in total despair.

Harry looked away from that pitiful sight. He couldn't let his emotions take over.
He couldn't do anything for her. Plus he had other plans.

"You were planning on goung alone before"
He said gruffly.
"If you take the money I gave you, I'm sure you could easily make it to London."

It was a damned lie, and he knew it.
A woman out in the open road, alone, and as beautiful as she was, was as defenceless to every rogue and knave who came her ways as a newborn mice would be against  his Amazon.

She shook her head and whispered, more to herself than him.

"I learned very well two nights ago that I will never make it on my own. I will need protection if I wish to make it London in one piece."

She walked back to the bed, wringing her hands.
She slowly sat on the bed, bowed her head and stayed still.

It was trully a pitiful sight to Harry. He truly wished he could help her. But he had to go.

He cleared his throat.
"Ehm... well, I guess this is it. I wish you luck. Goodbye Rosaline."

She said nothing, just kept her head bowed and lacing and unlacing her hands in a worried  rythm.

Just looking at it made his head ache.
He gulped.

"I said goodbye, Rosaline."

"Yes, yes..."
she mumbled tearfully.
"Goodbye..."

He loooked at her one last time. And awkwardly walked out the door.
Shaking his head to rid of the memory of her sitting so distressed on the edge of the bed.

The exact same bed he had spent so many enjoyable moments with her...

Well he'd be damned if he'd feel guilty about that! She had enjoyed herself just as much as he did. Even if she doesnt remember it now.

There was absolutely nothing wrong about that. She was a beautiful girl.

Harry was sure of one thing, if it was any other man, in his place , he would have taken full advantage of her state.
He did no such things. Just some
Harmless enjoyment.

The innkeeper smiled up at him from begind his serving board.

"I see you are on your way sir?"

"Yes. It's about time for me." He replied.
"The ,ehm, lady is... ehm.. feeling better now.
Send her some food to break her fast.
And ,oh, she requested a brush and clean linen to cover her hair with.
See that she has whatever she desires for."

He tossed the man a few gold coins and watched with disdain as the man quickly pocketed the money with evident greed.

"That, I will, m'lord" he promised.
"The lady be well satisfied , I vow. Will there be anything else ,m'lord?"

Harry looked the man over with consideration and wondered how far he could trust him.

The innkeeper was willing enough for the moment, when he was still there, but how would Rosaline would do once he’d ridden away?

Beside that, he also hated the way the man spoke of her, as though Rosaline was nothing less than a whore flaunting herself as something better.

He struggled for a long moment, thinking things over in his mind.
Telling himself sternly that he was going to regret it.

If only he could get rid of the image of her sitting so defeated and miserable on the edge of that damned bed, he might have moved on .

Minutes later his decision was made.

The lady,”
he said curtly, emphasizing the word,
will need a good mount as well.
Is there anyone in this godforsaken village who owns a decent horse he’d be willing to sell?”

He knew he was going to regret this decision of his...
