And now. . .
"What is the name of Newt Scamander's wife?"
----
"Uh, what?" Remus asked, speechless.
"And did I mention I have to let him kill me as well?" Harry added as Bellatrix placed the bundle gently in the cauldron, tone even as he kept his eyes on the scene in front of him.
"Wait, you have to what?" Harry winced as Bellatrix paused, thinking she had heard Sirius, who was being louder than he should have been. But she simply summoned the bones of Tom Riddle Sr. and turned back to the cauldron.
"Just go with it, trust me on this, I've gotten us this far haven't I?" He cringed a little as Bellatrix brought a silver knife down on her wrist, he got only a glimpse of the stump at the end of her wrist before she wrapped it in thick cloth.
"We are not going to let him kill you, Harry!" Sirius hissed.
"You have to," Harry commanded in the same tone he used to speak to new recruits while Bellatrix made her way over to Harry, face lit up with the sick glee of a madwoman.
"Blood of the enemy, forcibly taken, you will resurrect your foe!" Harry did his best not to cry out as Bellatrix sliced down his arm with the blade. She was much harsher with the blade than Peter had been, and Harry knew there would be a scar there.
Harry, Sirius, and Remus waited with bated breath as Bellatrix let several drops of Harry's blood fall into the cauldron. Light burst from it and sparks flew in every direction. Harry couldn't see anything in any direction. In an instant, the sparks were gone, replaced by a cloud of thick white smoke that covered Harry's vision. Through the mist, Harry saw the silhouette of Voldemort rising from the cauldron and a cold, high voice that Harry had not heard in nearly thirty years spoke.
"Robe me." Bellatrix did so without a sound and Voldemort stepped from the cauldron, looking as much the snake as he had thirty years ago. Lord Voldemort was back.
He took a moment to examine his new body before drawing his wand from his pocket and examining that as well. He turned towards where Bellatrix was standing, eyes shining and a manic grin on her face. He pointed his wand at her and blasted a tombstone not five feet to her right. She didn't even flinch, but she threw herself to the ground, bowing to Voldemort.
Satisfied by this, he moved in front of her and commanded her to stand and present her arm. Without hesitation, she was on her feet and offering her Dark Mark to him. She remained silent, waiting for him to address her.
"It has returned. They will know now, that I have returned." Harry could barely hear him but felt it as he pressed a single, bony finger to the Dark Mark, sending another bout of pain through his forehead. He refused to call out, biting his lip. Voldemort looked to the sky, "I wonder," He said, "who will be brave enough to return, and who will be foolish enough to stay away."
It was then that he seemed to notice Harry for the first time. "And you, Harry, stand on the remains of my late father." His voice was quiet, "A Muggle and a fool, very like your dear mother."
Harry knew he shouldn't, but it came out before he could help it, "Last I checked, my mum was a witch."
"Don't interrupt me, Potter." Voldemort snapped, then went on as if Harry hadn't said anything. "They both had their uses, insomuch as Muggles can have their uses."
Harry opened his mouth to correct him again, but felt a sharp jab to his side, presumably from Sirius or Remus. Harry scowled but remained quiet.
"Your mother died defending you, and my father has proved himself useful once again, in death."
