So, I started this chapter in my word docs, but I didn't copy the last section of the chapter and I didn't realize I had already written about the cup. Luckily I checked before I wrote too much. Anyway, for the question.
What is the first death we see in the Harry Potter books?
----
Ginny and Luna were the first to see the Death Eaters as they got closer to the tent. Ginny couldn't help but shiver when she saw them, this was how it all started. Her first instinct was to run out to defend those in their path, but she knew her parents would kill her if she did, so she got her father's attention, "Dad! Look!"
He looked out the tent flap and spotted the Death Eaters. His face paled and his voice took on a tone Ginny had only heard during the war, "Everyone! Get to the forest now! Everyone of age come with me! Fred and George, you're in charge of the kids. You all have my permission to protect yourselves by any means necessary." He ran out of the tent, followed closely by the others. No one was smiling anymore.
Sirius paused before he exited the tent, "You kids be careful. Keep each other safe and keep your wands at the ready. These people won't hesitate to attack if they see you don't have one. You're young, they won't expect you to fight back."
"We know Sirius. Now go!" Harry told him, practically shoving him out the door.
Ginny was the first to react after he was gone. "Alright, you heard Dad, we need to head for the woods. Fred and George, you lead and Hermione can bring up the rear. You're the best at spells." Of all of them, the twins had the least experience, but they couldn't know that.
"Aye, Aye Sir!" The twins saluted Ginny.
"That's Mam to you." She gave a small smile before they all rushed out of the tent, twins leading as planned. Harry followed close behind, ready to jump in front if any problem arose. At this point, he could handle being outed, as long as everyone stayed safe.
They didn't run into any problems as they made it into the forest. The problem came after they made into a sparser part of the forest. Four people wearing knock-off Death Eater masks had come out of the woods. George instinctually shoved Luna and Ginny into the center for protection. Ginny protested, but Luna hushed her as the men started talking. She reluctantly stayed in the middle, still ready to fight.
"Lookit the kiddies, thinkin' they can figh' us." One of the men slurred, clearly, he'd enjoyed more than Butterbeer after the match. The others, it seemed, weren't nearly as intoxicated.
"Don't you kids know you can't use magic outside of school?" The tall one taunted. Even behind the mask, Ginny could tell he was sneering at them.
"Don't you idiots know those masks went out of style fourteen years ago?" Fred retorted.
"More like they were never in style." George added.
"I hear they're making a comeback." The bigger one laughed harshly. It was clear, both from his stance and tone, that he was the ringleader of the group.
"Le's jus' kill 'em." The drunk one spoke again, raising his wand to shoulder height, but he was wobbling too much for any accuracy to be assured.
"I'd like to see you try." Fred's mouth was running again, and Ginny silently pleaded for him to shut up.
Ginny couldn't see what happened next, as her view of the drunk man was blocked by Fred's shoulder, but she heard Harry yell, "Stupefy!"
Spells started to fly. The bigger one was strong, but he wasn't willing to use the Unforgivables. The one who had remained silent was, however. He had targeted Harry as the biggest threat and focused his curses on him. Seeing the other men were being taken care of, Ginny moved in to help Harry.
