A loud, playful giggle erupted from you as you were walking between your two best friends. Hiro and Tadashi both seemed to earn hearty laughs from you; when they were together, they had comedic jokes that never failed to liven your mood.

Truth be told things had been different since you all started college. All three of you were so busy with homework assignments and projects. Then there was Hiro who had to be a superhero on top of it all. You rarely got to make time with the brothers'. And whenever you tried, they seemed to always be busy with something you couldn't help them with. Lately, you had felt a rift in your friendships with them. It never sat well with you to think you were growing apart from the two people you had spent the majority of your life growing up with. Luckily, Tadashi had noticed this rift as well and proposed a day out. Just the three of you to catch up on life.

And what better place to go unwind than San Fransokyo Park? You had countless memories of hanging with the Hamada's there as kids. There were days where you had went alone with Tadashi when he was stressed over school work. And there were times you went with just Hiro when Tadashi was in the hospital after the showcase fire. In some way, the park had helped you grow closer to both of them. It was a tranquil setting that they could take you to whenever they needed to confide to you something personal. And it turn, you would do the same.

But this time was different. Today, you were having a relaxing picnic with them. You all reached the top of a small hill, which had the perfect view of San Fransokyo Bridge. It was the most breathtaking spot in the whole park. Hiro and Tadashi set the blanket up while you set down the picnic basket and frisbee you brought along. You looked down at your feet, seeing the cherry blossom petals covering the grass. The trees were in full bloom, a bit earlier than you wished they'd be. Great, allergy season, you thought. Though, you couldn't be mad. The trees were absolutely beautiful this time of year.

"Wow, look at all these petals," Tadashi said, admiring them himself now. As he glanced over at you, he smirked - an idea sparked in his mind. He quietly knelt down, gathering a pile of the light pink petals in his hands.

Without warning, you felt a gentle rain of petals falling on top of you. You turned your head, seeing the culprit of this act being from the elder Hamada, who was pretending he had nothing to do with it. As he whistled away, you let out a sarcastic laugh. "Nice try, 'Dashi. I know that was you."

Tadashi shrugged in return. "What? I don't know, what you're talking about, (Y/N)," he stated, his tone highly suggesting that was a lie.

You dusted the rest of the petals off your head. You kept glaring at Tadashi, who was still innocently smiling at what he did. Your heart fluttered when that smile of his was in your direction. Yes, you had always seen both Hamada's as family. They treated you as if you were the sister they never had. And for the longest time, you thought of them as siblings as well. But something had changed when Tadashi woke from his two month long coma.

Him being not only alive, but conscious and responsive made you realize that Tadashi meant more to you than a friend. And for a long time, you had been pushing those feelings down, convincing yourself you only felt that way because of the traumatic experience he went through. And even now, all you wanted was for this to be a friend's day with him and Hiro. Whatever you were feeling, you had decided to push down and think about later.

Not even trying to be secretive, you collected some petals in your hands, throwing them right onto Tadashi. You bursted into a fit of laughter when Tadashi had to spit one out. "It looks like the tree attacked you!" You yelled in between laughs.

The elder Hamada cocked an eyebrow at you. "Oh, it is on, (Y/N)," he declared.

Another pile of petals were thrown in your direction, but you moved away before they could hit you. "Ha ha! You missed me, you missed me! Now you gotta kiss me!" You shouted, your cheeks starting to flush once you realized what you said.

Hiro groaned in the middle of this petal feud. "Ugggh, please no kissing."

It seemed you and Tadashi both had the same idea, because you were both getting more petals from the ground at the same time. Simultaneously, you dumped your petal confetti on top of Hiro, his moppy hair now covered in the surprise attack.

"Aghh!" He grumped. "Now the blanket is covered in petals!"

"Okay okay, enough is enough," you stated, taking a seat on the picnic blanket. "Let's just eat the amazing sandwiches your aunt made."

You opened the picnic basket which was filled with food. Each sandwich was in wrapped in plastic and labeled. Hiro got a roast beef, Tadashi got a pastrami and you had a (favorite sandwich). You didn't even have to tell Cass which one you wanted; it was your favorite sandwich on her menu. Along with that, there was also smoothies and cookies inside.

"Your aunt is seriously amazing," you said, a mouth full of your sandwich. "It must be so fun to live in a cafe."

The brothers cackled at your statement. "Not all the time," Hiro told you. "We have to work a lot of shifts sometimes. It's really hard to give people their food when you want to eat it yourself."

"I could imagine. Any embarrassing stories from behind the counter?"

You saw a smirk immediately forming on Tadashi's face. This should be good. "Well," he started, glaring at Hiro. "There was that one time where Hi–"

"Don't say it!" Hiro yelled.

"Hiro tripped trying to bring food over to a table." Tadashi snickered at the memory.

At first, Hiro appeared to be irritated, but there was now he had a devious smile of his own. "Oh yeah. What about that time you fell into the mop bucket?"

Tadashi's cheeks instantly flushed red with embarrassment. "You promised you'd never bring that up again! I had to work the rest of that shift with wet pants!"

You had to admit, you were enjoying the stories. Though, you knew this would turn into an argument over who had a more embarrassing moment. "Okay, sorry I asked," you interrupted. "Look, this day is supposed to be fun and to catch up on what's going on in our world. So, how's robotics?"

Tadashi went on to talk about his latest project. While this new project had all his attention, he still updated Baymax from time to time. Hiro talked about how he was currently brainstorming a new idea, but was mostly developing his microbots. He continued to bring up stories from his superhero life, which fascinated you greatly.

Yet, the more exciting their stories got, the more out of place you felt. Here these two geniuses were talking about their incredible lives and you had nothing in comparison that they would find impressive. Sure, there was your biology major, but the more you went on with what you had been learning, the less interesting it seemed to be.

"I don't know," you shrugged, looking down sadly. "I haven't really come up with anything that could be helpful yet."

Tadashi shook your shoulder in a comforting manner. "Hey, that's alright. You'll discover something worth looking into."

"Yeah, you're like the biology wizard!" Hiro added.

"Hopefully. And when I do, you two nerds will be the first people to hear about it," you told them, ruffling Hiro's hair. "I'm really glad we could hang out today. I feel like we haven't hung out like this in a long time."

"Me too. It's good to catch up with you, (Y/N). I know our majors have kinda drifted us apart, but we'll always make time for you."

"Yeah, (Y/N). We wouldn't know what to do without you!"

You giggled at the boys' flattery. They always knew how to assure you. And you knew they'd live up to their words.

More than anything, you were glad that you got to spend much needed time with them.

This would be so much fun! Who doesn't want to spend the day with these two? :D
