Reader has an anxiety attack on a date with Tadashi

---

No...not now.

You couldn't finish that thought - you could already feel your fingers begin to tremble. Soon enough, your entire body had began to shake as if you were cold. Oh, how you wished that could have been the actual reason. More than anything, you wished your suddenly constricting, modest clothing was made of a more breathable material. You rolled up the sleeves of your top, the air hitting against your bare skin making you feel only slightly better.

Though that didn't last.

A minute later, you were consumed with endless thoughts that refused to leave you alone. What if you pass out? All these people will see it. Then an ambulance will have to come and it's all your fault. At that point, Tadashi would break up with you.

Of course, you had to remind yourself that last part was far from the truth. Tadashi, your boyfriend of ten months, was always supporting and helpful. Whenever you had a problem dealing with anything, he would always be there to help you through it. It was one of his many ways of showing how much he loves you.

Yet, he still didn't have a clue about your anxiety attack history. For the most part, you had it under control, but sometimes it got the better of you. Sometimes at home and unfortunately in public like now. It just had to be now, didn't it?

You could feel your forehead producing sweat at the base of your hairline. In an attempt to distract yourself from your intruding thoughts, you tapped your fingers on the table. Nothing helped. You took in a deep breath of air which shuddered as you exhaled. The skin around your throat felt tight as you took in another breath, causing your heart to race. You looked down to the floor where your legs were shaking uncontrollably. As you looked back up, the room spun, to which you took in another deep breath.

In the last minute alone, you had lost count of how many times you had readjusted yourself. Keeping yourself in motion helped you, but only a little. And each time you moved, you kept reminding yourself to breathe. It was all you could focus on and you absolutely hated it.

Every breath that felt cut off made your heart pound faster. Every minute that went by seemed to go by slower. And the worst part was how hopelessly trapped and scared you were getting. I gotta get out of here. I just want to leave this place.

From across the room, you caught the sight of Tadashi, walking back to the table. You forced yourself to smile, but you knew you had to look as bad as you were feeling. Readjusting yourself for the umpteenth time, you tried to calm yourself with more relaxing thoughts as he reached his seat. You could only hope his never ending, but exciting ideas for his latest robotics project would cease the attack.

However, it wasn't a casual greeting he started off with. "Hey..." he said, his endearing smile turning into a soft frown. "Are you feeling alright?" He asked.

Why does he have to be so observant? "Mhm," you mumbled, not wanting to use words as you breathe out.

Tadashi wasn't buying it for a second. He took in all of your concerning features. From the sweat falling down your pale face to your jittery fingers, he knew you were hiding something. "No you're not. Are you overheated or something?"

As much as you didn't want him to have to worry, you knew it would be better for him to know. You shook your head to his question, looking at him with your terrified, (e/c) eyes. "Anxiety," was all you could manage to say before you felt like you were going to stop breathing. Again, you readjusted as you took in more air.
