Under The Stars (Tadashi)

I was requested on Tumblr to write a Tadashi x Male!Reader fic and this was the first idea that popped into my head. I hope you like it :)

The big dipper. A constellation you could easily locate each night after the stars had popped into the sky. Mentally tracing it again and again in your head, a content sigh found its way through your lips. You closed your eyes, feeling a gentle breeze touch against your skin. Trees had been brought to life with each passing wind. Leaves rustling was the only sound that broke silence on such a peaceful time. You didn't mind this. It added to the mood of yet another wonderful date.

Though, every date you had with your boyfriend was wonderful to you. It didn't matter what you and Tadashi decided to do or what ended up happening along the way. What mattered was that you were spending time together. You were with him and making the most of it. Appreciating each other's company.

Star gazing was one of those ideas that wasn't planned. It was an in the moment decision that had Tadashi running through the park with his hand locked on yours. That contagious smile of his didn't cease to fade as laid down on top of a hill to admire the night sky. It felt so surreal for you to witness. The guy that you were falling for more and more each and every day so giddy to look at the stars...with you. Your heart welled up with the amount of happiness that overcame you. Everything about this felt so right. Lying near one another, heads nearly touching in blissful quietness.

You fell out of your thoughts at the sound of Tadashi's voice. He said something to you, but you hadn't heard a word. Now curious, you mumbled a 'huh', eager to hear what he had just told you.

"I said you remind me of the stars."

What? "How so," you asked, genuinely confused by where Tadashi was going with this.

In return, you heard a low chuckle. Why did his laugh have to be so cute? "You're both out of this world."

Oh. He was leading into a pun. Well, it was actually a pick-up line, but you loved it nonetheless. Any chance that Tadashi had to be silly you enjoyed to see. He always put so much stress on himself when it came to school work and his family. Seeing him let loose meant a lot to you. Not only because you knew he wasn't feeling stressed, but also because he was relaxed around you. It brought joy to you that you were able to make him feel calm.

You snickered at his lame, yet adorable humor. "Are you kidding me?" You asked in between bouts of laughter. Tadashi laughed along with you; your giggles in sync with each other. "That was...that was really bad, babe."

Tadashi bit down on his lower lip in a failed attempt to suppress the remainder of his laughter. "Sorry! Couldn't help it." He looked over at you, giving you that disarming, crooked smile of his. Your heart instantly rushed. You turned away to blush in private.

"So...another great night out, huh?" You focused your attention back to the big dipper as you waited for an answer.

"An amazing night," Tadashi told you without skipping a beat. "Had a nice dinner, stopped for ice cream. Now we're here. I think this has been my favorite part."

"Me too," you agreed. Out of nowhere, memories began to consume your thoughts. You thought back to when you had first saw Tadashi -- long before he was your boyfriend. All the dates you had been on, time you spent together...none of it would be happening if it hadn't been for that day. "I'll never forget how insane it was the first time I saw you."

The sudden change of topic had Tadashi's full attention on you. Immediately, he flipped over to lay on his stomach, looking down at you as you continued to speak.
