It took you days to convince your boyfriend, Tadashi you could handle it.

First, it all started when he brought up the idea of watching a horror movie, but rejected it shortly after. He told you he didn't want you to watch anything that could scare you. Yes, horror is not your favorite movie genre; not by a long shot. Though you knew it was all just effects and jump scares that made it so creepy. You started telling him you could handle it. Yet, he kept persuading you into another movie instead.

Then you started to plead. You don't know why you wanted to do this so badly. Whether it was to prove to your boyfriend that you could, in fact, handle a scary movie or to prove it to yourself, you had this yearning to experience that type of flick with him. Still, he said no.

You had decided to leave it be for a couple days, but of course you brought it back up. "(Y/N), please. I don't want you to be scared," he told you for, repeating himself for previous conversations.

This response was really starting to get to you. You hated the idea of Tadashi thinking you were too scared to see it. He didn't need to be so overprotective. Luckily, you had a new method of persuasion up your sleeve. "Please, 'Dashi," you urged, blinking your big (e/c) eyes at him. "Even if I do get scared, I'll feel safe because I'll be watching it with you." With a peck on his cheek to seal the deal, you had done it. He gave into you, promising a movie date the next day.

That whole day, you were excited. The drive over to the cafe had you jittery, but in a good way. You had zero doubts that this was going to be a bad idea.

The aroma of popcorn and some baked goods that Tadashi's aunt had prepared for you two filled the family room. Tadashi had set up the couch with plenty of snacks and blankets. You walked over, glancing at the coffee table which had the movie case of what Tadashi picked out for you and him to watch.

The Conjuring. You had heard about the movie before, but had no knowledge of what it was about. You could feel the hairs on the back of your neck begin to stand. It's just a movie, you reminded yourself. You can handle this.

Tadashi grabbed for the case, taking out the DVD inside. "This is your last chance to back out on this, (Y/N)."

You playfully rolled your eyes at him. "I'm not backing out. What? Are you too scared to watch it?" You asked him with a smirk on your face.

He gave you a sarcastic laugh in return as he placed the DVD inside the player. Soon, he made his way over to the couch where he covered both him and you under a soft blanket. You and him had both been digging into the popcorn bowl while the previews were playing. And as the main screen appeared for the movie to began, his arm dropped from the top of the couch to your shoulder with a loving grip. You leaned into his soothing touch, feeling safe despite the movie just now starting.

You were fine. You assured yourself you'd make it through the movie.

And for awhile you really were. Yes, there were jump scares that made you flinch a little. There was tense music that made your skin crawl. There were shots in the house that had you shaking, but was luckily only noticeable when your trembling fingers went to retrieve another handful of popcorn.

Because of this, Tadashi snuck glances at you every so often, but he didn't keep it well hidden. You could feel his concerned, brown eyes on you every time you flinched. But you couldn't be upset at him for doing it. It made you feel comfortable knowing how much he wanted to protect you.

All seemed to be well until it got to a particular scene that just had to include a music box. That alone gave you the chills, but then the scene took a turn with yet another jump scare of a woman's face. You flinched again, but this time, a loud gasp managed to escape from your mouth. As you looked over to Tadashi, you saw he was already looking back at you, his hand now rubbing your arm.

"You okay?" He asked softly.

In return, you gave him a smile to hopefully ease his worries. "Mhm," you mumbled.

Tadashi pressed his warm lips to your forehead. "Not scared?"

You shook your head. "I'm fine, really."

Though you spoke a bit too soon. As you turned your attention back to the movie, another jump scare happened, causing you to scream. It wasn't that loud, but it worried Tadashi enough to pause the movie. He examined your big, frightened eyes that were still glued to the television screen. You could feel your heart pounding in your chest, but you weren't aware of how your body was shuddering.

"Hey hey, (Y/N)," Tadashi called out to you; his voice now shaken by how terrified you appeared. He curled a finger under your chin, guiding you to face him. "Look at me." You did so, but your eyes were still ridden with fear. "Breathe, sweetie."

You nodded, taking in a couple deep breaths before you spoke. "Don't worry, I'm okay," you told him, your voice shaky. "That just startled me a bit."

Immediately, Tadashi wrapped his arms around you. When you laid your head on his shoulder, he began the base of it with kisses. "I knew we shouldn't have watched a scary movie," he whispered.

You felt bad for worrying him. "Hey, I'm okay. Horror movies are supposed to scare you. That's kinda the point, 'Dashi." You looked up at him, giving him a reassuring grin. "I knew what I was getting into watching a movie like this." You gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. "Besides, I got a protective nerd to keep me safe," you finished, giggling at your statement.

Tadashi chuckled back, taking the opportunity to kiss you while the movie was still paused. You returned the gesture, wrapping an arm around him, your fingers lacing through his hair. All the fear that had started to break down was now being replaced with safety and happiness.

"BOO!"

A rush of fear built up inside of you again as you jumped out of Tadashi's arms. He jumped as well, looking for the source of the loud noise.

You both glared up at the staircase, finding a now cackling Hiro. "Oh man, you two should have seen the looks on your faces!" He yelled, laughing again.

"Hiro!" Tadashi scolded.

You took it a bit further, grabbing for one of the couch pillows and stomping over to the staircase. "Hiro! That was so not funny!" You yelled at him, throwing the pillow on him.

"Ow! Okay okay, I'm sorry!" He yelped. "I"m going back upstairs."

You grabbed for the pillow again, walking back over to the couch. Tadashi still looked stern as he listened for his brother's footsteps to return up to their shared bedroom. "Sorry about him," he said apologetically.

You responded with a light giggle. "Don't be. I had fun whacking him with the pillow."

Tadashi would be the best person to watch a scary movie with. Also, while I like watching scary-related stuff, I don't think I've actually seen a horror movie. But I picked The Conjuring because I watched a scene before writing this and it made me jump, so I figured it would be perfect xD And Hiro at the end was too much xD Anyway, thanks for the request   it was so much fun to write :D
