Chapter 11
Better Late Than NeverI woke up at five forty in the morning.
That gave me just enough time to start breakfast. I went into Reylor's room and grabbed the baby monitors that were in there. I walked into the guest bedroom and placed one by the crib.I was in the kitchen when I heard a loud thud from upstairs. I took the pancake off of the stove and didn't bother placing another one on there. I turned off the burner and walked upstairs.
I walked into the guest bedroom and noticed that Kaden was awake and rubbing his eyes.
"Goodmorning mommy!" He smiled.
"Shh! You don't wanna wake up Kiana now do you?" I picked him up, kissed his cheek and then smiled at him.I covered him in his blanket, after all it was pretty cold in the mornings.
"What smells so good?" Kaden asked as we neared the kitchen.
"Do you like chocolate?" I asked him.
"Mmhmm!" He nodded.
"Mmkay, now do you like pancakes?" I asked him.
"I love them." He said excitedly.
"Well one last thing."
"What is it?" He asked."Do you like hot cocoa?"
"Hot chocolate!" He exclaimed.
"Yep!" I set him down on the counter."Don't tell uncle Natey that I let you sit up there, okay? It'll be our secret." He wiped the syrup off of his hand with the towel.
He extended it and held up his pinkie finger."I promise if you promise." He said.
I raised my pinkie finger and linked it with his.
"I promise." I whisper shouted.

I finished bathing Kaden and now I was bathing Kiana. She was a very calm baby when it came to water. She smiled.
"Hey beautiful," I cooed.
Nothing
"Kiana," I sang.
Nothing
I smiled and stuck my tongue out just before I showed my lip piercing.
She smiled.
I laughed and that's when she started giggling. I smiled at her again, and she squealed."Woah, shh! It's early you're gonna wake everybody up!" I whispered to her.
Another squeal and then she started pouncing the warm water, splashing me."I should be careful with what I wish for." I mumbled to no one.
I checked the time. 6:42 a.m.
I pulled the baby out of the tub and wrapped her in a towel, hugging her close to my body to give her some of my body heat. She started quivering.I got her into the guest bedroom and found a very naked Kaden, sitting in the towel, watching Mickey Mouse.
"Kaden, why aren't you dressed?" I asked kindly. I didn't want him to think he was in trouble.
"Mommy," he stated firmly.
"How do I know what happens to Mickey Mouse, if I don't know?" He mumbled and sounded so cute. The first thing that popped in my head was a video I'd seen a while back of a little boy saying, 'Linda Listen!'"Oh, well can I see what happens so that I know what happens to Mickey Mouse?"
"Yeah, but listen closely, okay!" This kid was eventually gonna hurt my brain by having me trying to understandhim.I picked out his Nike shirt that said, 'We Stay Winning!' And grabbed him his basket ball shorts and gave him his Nike elite socks.
"Boy, your mom spoils you guys alright."
Kaden looked at me, taking his eyes off the TV for once and just gave me a cheesy smile.
"I know!" Was all he said, before turning back to the TV.
I grabbed a grey hoodie, with a blue nike sign across the front of it and black little skinny jeans for Kiana.
"I have one of these sweaters; actually I have this whole outfit." I said as I dug inside her bag and found some dark blue vans with brown laces and a brown ring around them.
"You guys are little. You're gonna outgrow this stuff soon. Why so expensive?" I asked no one in particularly. But what this kid said just left me speechless.
"Mommy wants us to look good. When daddy left on vacation, he left mommy a lot of money so that she could spend more time with me and my baby sister. He doesn't want my mommy to work too hard."
I finally came up with something to say.
"When did he tell you that?" I asked."When I was asleep. I saw him. I see him a lot when I sleep. I wonder if he does that to Kiana too. Do you think so? Do you think he visits her when he doesn't visit me? What about my mommy? I know she misses him a lot. I know because she cries a lot."
"Just get dressed sweetheart. We can talk about it another time. Okay? Just us. Maybe we can go out for ice cream."
And with that, I picked up Kiana and went downstairs to make a bottle for her. I knew she was hungry.

"Hey momma can I have another pancake. I'm hungry again."
"Sure." I put a pancake on a plate and gave it to him, along with a fork and syrup.
Marcus came up to me and hugged me and Kiana. He was in black sweats, black socks and a black T-shirt.
"Good morning," I smiled.
"Good morning. I'd kiss you, but we have company." He joked.
"We are the company genius." I laughed a little.
"You know what I mean."
"Yeah I do." I said lowly."Uncle Marcus!" Kaden exclaimed with a mouth full of pancake.
Then he motioned for him to go over to him. He attempted to whisper."You need to try my mommies pancakes. But you have to get some before uncle Natey finishes them all."
I laughed a little.
"What's so funny?" Kaden snapped.
"Nothing." I brushed him off, still laughing a little bit."Did I whisper too loud?" He asked Marcus.
"Don't worry I'll get her later." Marcus said in a normal tone.
"Ooh, I'm so scared." I taunted.
"You should be!" Kaden threatened. This kid was going to be the death of me.
"Holy crap these are good!" Marcus exclaimed with a mouthful of pancake, as he took his first bite.
"I love you!" He exclaimed.
"Who? Me for making them or the pancake for being so good?" I joked. I didn't expect to get an answer back though."I'll go with the later." He answered.
Never mind; turns out that this man would most likely be the death of me.
