Chapter 12
I Got You Fam!Sophie came to pick the babies up. She seemed really nice. She laughed when I told her about Kaden only answering me if I referred to myself as mommy.
"He's never done that!" Was all she had to say. She was laughing too much to respond any differently.
Marcus was driving us home. I was leaning against the door and I had my head against the seat.
"Aww, is the poor baby tired." Marcus joked.
"Yes. And I'm hungry again." I whined."I got you fam!" He jumped off the exit and zoomed through town.
"Bakery or burger joint?" Marcus asked.
"Burger joint. What kind of question is that?" I asked him.
"Well, I like a woman with a big appetite." He raised his hands in a surrender motion."Okay, I still got you fam!" He said as he pulled into a Miners.
"Do you want to order or do you want a surprise?" He questioned.
"Surprise me."Marcus ended up getting me a bacon burger and a chocolate milkshake.
"I think I'll just start trusting your judgement on food." I said seriously.
"Well I kinda am a genius when it comes to food." He joked.
"I'm serious!" I laughed.
"Hi serious, I'm Marcus." He joked.
"Asshole." I muttered, then took a bite out of my burger.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
I was so full. I still had my milkshake but my fries and my burger were gone.
We were pulling up to the house and when we finally parked, I took Marcus's keys from the ignition and bolted towards the door."Hey come back here." He yelled.
"I need to hide! I need to hide!" I kept saying to myself.
I went into the office room and hid in the closet. I heard Marcus outside the doors."If I find you, I will not let you go." He started laughing. And it wasn't just any laugh. It was the one that brought out his "swoon-worthy" smile.
"First clap?" He asked.
I clapped.
"Alright," he walked into the kitchen, to where I could see him.He looked under the table and on the chairs to make sure I wasn't laying there.
He checked under the sink only to find kitchen and cleaning supplies.
He looked in the pantry.
"Last clap?"
I didn't move.
"Lexi? Last clap?"
I didn't do anything.
"Fine, but I know I'm close."He opened the office doors and walked over to the desk. He bent down and looked under it.
"What the hell? Where did she go?"
I hid in the far back on the farthest corner. I sat down and covered myself with some of the clothes and blankets that were there."Last clap?" He called out again.
I held my hands out in front of me but before I could clap, something in me told me not to. I was just gonna let him find me."Gotcha!" He said as he looked behind the door.
"Damn it!" He muttered.
"I give up!" He called out.
"I won't do anything if you come out."
I clapped.
He opened the closet door.He crawled in and hovered above me.
"Found you." He pulled me out and put me over his shoulder.
I kept laughing and smiling.
"Put me down Marcus!" I laughed.
"Marcus I'm serious. Put me down!"He put me down but before I could move, he set me on his lap.
"What are we doing?" He asked.
"We're playing." I laughed."I mean with us. What are we? We sure as hell aren't roommates anymore. So what does it make us?" He asked.
"I don't know." I shrugged my shoulders."I want you to be mine, but I'm nervous as to what'll happen if we take things too far." He stated sincerely.
"Don't be. I'm cool with it. I kind of expected it when you asked me to live with you. I just thought I was crazy though." I confessed. He smacked my leg. Not hard, but hard enough to hear a 'slap' sound.
"I like these." He said pointing to my spandex.
"Of course you would." I muttered.
"No, not like that. I just like the color and design and what not." He rephrased himself."Marcus, they're black."
"I know." He answered simply.
"The only thing they have is 'Nike Pro' on the elastic band and a white nike sign on the thigh."
"I understand that." He stated again.
It got quiet.
"Hey what happened to that Calvin Klein set that I bought you?" He asked."It's in my room, why?" I asked.
"Just curious, because I was going through my stuff the other day, and I found mine."
"You have one too?" I asked out of curiosity.
"Yeah, the boxers." He answered.
"I actually have mine on right now." I admitted.
"That's a coincidence." He mumbled.
"How so?"
"I have mine on too. If you don't mind, we should take a picture."
"I have a bruise. But sure."
He got up and removed his shirt. Next came his sweats.
I wasn't grossed out or covering my eyes. I was used to it. And it wasn't like it was the first time either. I'm pretty sure he'd seen most of me while he helped me ready myself sometimes.I removed my shirt, and my spandex.
"I like the color of yours." I admitted.
"I like yours on you."
He gave me a piggy back ride upstairs to his room and went into his bathroom. He pulled out his phone and went to the camera.
"Say cheese." He said sarcastically.
I gave a cheesy smile from being on his back."It's a keeper." He showed me the picture.
"I should post that later. I'll just crop out our faces though."
"Sure." I hugged him.
"What's up? You feeling okay?" He seemed concerned.
"Yeah, but about that conversation that we had downstairs?" I reminded him."Yeah, what about it?" He asked.
I didn't know how to tell him how I feel.
"How do you feel about me?" I asked him."Write it on paper and I'll do the same. We can give them to each other after we're done." He offered.
"Kind of like the argument box?" I questioned.
He nodded his head.
"Deal." I shook his hand.I went into the kitchen, grabbed paper and pens. I walked back upstairs and went into his room.
"If it helps I can stay here and you can go into mine?" I offered.
"Yeah that works." He agreed. And with that, he walked out and closed the door. Time to get started.
