Chapter 16

I woke up with an unbearably painful headache. I reached for a piece of the blanket and tossed it over myself. I looked at my hand. There it sat. In plain sight, on my ring finger.

I hadn't been dreaming. Marcus actually had proposed. And I great fully accepted.

I looked to the left side of me. Marcus was still sound asleep. I kissed him and got up.

I was nearing the kitchen when I heard Stacey. "I don't know why he proposed. He's only known the gal for a few weeks." Silence.
"I don't know, but it's like they've known each other forever. It's an unbreakable bond that they have. I - She just makes him so happy. I love it. Whatever she's doing, she needs to keep it up. He hasn't been this happy since - gah, I don't even remember."
Silence again.
"Okay, I'll see you in a bit."
"Love you too." Click!

I walked up to her and she smiled.
"Good morning!" She took a sip out of her mug.

I walked over to her and hugged her. It was like in a fraction of a second, that she hugged me back.

"I'm so glad your apart of the family now. Officially." She corrected herself.

"It's nice to finally meet you. Marcus has told me alot about you along with Richard over the week."

She smiled. "Really?" She questioned.
"Really." I confirmed.

There was a comfortable silence that settled over us.

"If you'll excuse me, I'm gonna start on breakfast, you're more than welcome to join if you'd like. Otherwise, make yourself comfortable and relax." I said. She smiled and got up.

"He really got lucky with you. I bet you take such good care of him."

"I try," I started. "But I think it's the other way around." I smiled.

I turned around and started the stove. I walked over to the sink and washed my hands. "What's for breakfast?" Stacey asked.

"I'm thinking bacon, eggs, sausage and belgian waffles." I smiled as I dried my hands.

"I've never tried a belgian waffle." Stacey walked over to the sink and washed her hands.

"Well, I'm honored to be able to say I gave you your first one. Ever." I joked.

I took out the waffle maker and nearly dropped it on my foot.

"Shit!" I cursed. I turned around to see Stacey raising her eyebrows at me.

"I'm sorry, I usually never curse." That's a lie. She started laughing.

"What?" I looked at her confused.

"Don't even sweat it. I'm completely used to it with my boys. And also with Reylor since they pick on her all yhe damn time."
Stacey laughed. Her laugh was definitely contagious because after awhile I started laughing too.

"I'm glad you're not afraid to say or do anything around me. You're still able to be yourself."

I looked at her and smiled. Except I think I had strawberries in my teeth, because Stacey started laughing alot more than before.

I looked in the reflection of the pan. I smiled and sure enough, I had strawberry pieces in my teeth.

I laughed and attempted to get it out with my tongue.

I was setting the table while Stacey finished the last of the eggs.

I felt a pair of warm strong hands wrap around my torso.

"Goodmorning, my beautiful fiancé." Marcus. I turned around and kissed him.

"You hungry?" I asked him.
"Very." He mumbled.
"Your mom helped me make breakfast."
"That's a first." He laughed. God I loved his laugh.

Marcus and I walked up the stairs and up to Nathan and Reylor's room.

I opened the door and they were both still asleep.

Marcus held my hand and we ran and jumped on their bed.

I rolled over onto Nathan while Marcus sat on Reylor's butt. She was on her stomach while Nathan was on his back.

"Nathan! Brother! Wake up!" I yelled.
"Sister!" Marcus cooed.
"Rey! Reylor! Rey! Wake up!" Marcus yelled.

I started laughing and rolled onto my back. "Nathan wake up." I said seriously.
"Wake your lazy ass up!" I began to pull his arm hairs out.

"Fucking shit! Ow god dammit!" Nathan woke up.
"About damn time!" Marcus and I said in unison.

"Get off my ass dammit! Get the fuck off me Marcus! I will go into your room while you're asleep and chop your nuts off. I will make sure you never have kids. Ever!" She said into her pillow.

"But I just proposed yesterday." He whined.

"Then get the fuck off." Reylor mumbled again.

"I rolled back onto my stomach and looked at Nathan.

"Breakfast is ready."

Nathan shot out of the bed and dropped me on the floor.

"God dammit!" I wheezed. I got up and Nathan was already out the door.

I heard Marcus and Reylor laughing behind me, but that didn't stop me from chasing him.

"Once I catch you, I will not let you go." I said to no one in particular.

I heard a quiet laugh coming from the kitchen. I ran in there and stopped at the threshold.

"Did Nathan pass through here?" I asked Stacey.
"I'm afraid not, why?"
"No reason." I looked over at Richard who sounded like he was playing a slot game on his phone. He looked up from his phone and motioned his eyes towards the pantry.

I tiptoed over to the door and swung it open. Sure enough, Nathan was sitting at the bottom munching out on Ritz crackers.

"Asshole." I muttered before I dragged him out and layed him on the floor. I straddled him and started slapping him continuously.

"Marcus!" Nathan screamed.
"Sorry, can't help you bro!" He hollered back, but I could barely hear him over Nathan's yelling.

"Are you sure she's the one? You couldn't propose to anyone else?" Nathan screeched.

"She's doing a pretty good job of kicking your ass, so I guess not."

I started laughing and Nathan used that to his advantage. He flipped me on my back and pinned my arms with one of his hands. I tried to kick him in the butt, but it didn't work.

"Now what?" He smirked.
