Chapter 33

Time was going by so slow. Hardly anybody was walking around the Nike store.

"Can I get a price check?" A young girl brought up a pair of yoga pants. She had to be about twelve or thirteen. She was dressed in some worn out clothes.

"Sure; these are really cute." I commented. I scanned the pants and handed them back to her.

"They are thirteen dollars and ninety-six cents."

She looked at them.

"Is that after tax?" She asked.

"After tax, they'd be about fifteen dollars."

The girl pulled out a five and ones. She began to count.

"I only have twelve dollars." She groaned. "I'll just come back some other day." She walked away, head down, and I'm willing to put money on it that she began to sob. Some older girls maybe about sixteen or seventeen were laughing to themselves. They said something to her, but I didn't hear it clearly.

"Hey sweetheart?" I called out.

She turned around and sure enough her eyes were red. Her face was turning pink.

I waved my hand for her to come back over.

"How about, I take you out for a little bit. I'll get you a new outfit. I get off of work in about ten minutes anyways."

Her eyes lit up, but then she frowned.

"My mom tells me not to take anything from anybody."

"You're not taking. I'm giving. You're recieving. Plus I need a little girls fashion ideas. I live with two guys which is enough. Can you help me with an outfit too? Trust me, it won't even phase me. My husband won't mind. It's coming from my paycheck." I ranted.

She giggled.

"I also need help looking for baby's clothes." I rubbed my belly when I said baby. Truth was, Marcus and I still didn't have a for sure name.

We were debating over Mathew and Anthony. Marcus wanted Anthony Mathew Rodriguez, but we weren't for sure yet.

"Emily. Emily Cruz." The little girl said.
"That's my name." She clarified.

"I'm Alexa Davis."

We walked into a few stores and before I knew it, an hour had passed, and she had to meet back up with her mom.

I found a few baby outfits. I want even sure when the wedding was. I had to call Stacey to know for sure.

My wedding day was in a week.

I would still be pregnant on my wedding day. The good thing was that I didn't have to worry about where my baby was throughout the night and I wouldn't have to feed him constantly. I could enjoy my night with Marcus.

The thing was, how did I go so long without even knowing my date?

Maybe because your mother in law decided to take over and make sure you didn't worry too much. I thought to myself.

I walked to my car and placed the few bags that I had from little stores here and there in the mall.

I got in and sat there with my head on my hands which were gripping the steering wheel. I started the car and drove off.

My phone started ringing so I clicked answer on the Bluetooth system that was in the car.

"Hello?" I answered not knowing who it was.

"Hello! Is this Sophia Rodriguez?"
"No this is her sister-in-law, Alexia Rodriguez. May I ask who this is?"

"Pardon me, where are my manners? I'm Sharon Aggard. I work at the school that your nephew, Kaden, attends."

"Oh."

"Yeah," she continued. "I'm calling in regards to Kaden Rodriguez. He got sent to the office for punching another student. He will be suspended as a punishment, and since we can't get a hold of Sophia, you were on the emergency contact list along with two other men who haven't answered either."

"Yeah, my husband and my brother in law are working right now. Do I need to pick him up now or...?" I trailed off.

"We just need your signature indicating that you showed up and we assessed the problem rather quickly. Unfortunately, the suspension is for one whole week and further information will be explained at the time of your arrival."

"Okay, I'll be there in a few." I hung up afterwards.

Kaden actually had the heart to hit another student? There had to be some motive. My nephew never went on random punching sprees.

I parked and walked to the main door. I tried to open it, but unfortunately, I had to push a button and wait til someone answered and unlocked it.

"I'm here in regards to Kaden Rodriguez." I clarified.

"Okay come on in." I heard a click and a buzzing noise. I pulled the door open and walked inside.

"Ms. Aggard will see you now." A secretary announced.

I walked down the light grey colored hallway, and into an office that was a darker shade of grey.

"Knock, knock." I said before entering.

I walked in and saw Kaden sitting in a chair with his arms folded across his chest.

"Would someone care to explain?" The principal asked, aiming for Kaden to start talking.

"No, I think you can handle it." Kaden retorted.

"That wasn't rhetorical, young man." She got firm with him.

"Fine, Dylan was talking bad about my family and how I have two mommies. It's not like that." This kid understood alot.

"And then he said my mommies were gay and that uncle Marcus was a whore. Whatever that is. So then I punched him in the face and broke his nose. Now he knows not to f-" I covered his mouth to where it sounded like he said fuf. "-with me."

The principal looked at me.

I mouthed a sorry. "So he will be suspended for two weeks and the parents decided to not press charges since they both are only in second grade." The principal explained.

"You told me one week." I interrupted.

"The paper says two weeks. I just checked it." She says. She pointed to a part and showed me.

"Alright. Well I'll get him home to his mom. He'll be punished for sure." I said as we walked out.

We got into the car, him in the passengers seat.

"Does my mom know?" Kaden asked once we I started driving.

I was taken back by the fact that he usually says mommy. I knew he was upset for sure.

"Nobody was answering, but you know I have to tell her, right?" I looked at him.

"Yeah, I know." He looked out of the window.

I have to give the boy credit. He defended his family, and also had a heavy enough hand to break a kids nose.

•••••••••

I just want to clear something I noticed... Before anybody comments on it... At least If anybody decides too lol

I originally was going to title this book as Faithful Sinner, but I had realized that there was one that was already named that and to me I'm just trying to be different and not copy anybody's titles... I would be pissed off if somebody copied my name seeings that I thought long and hard about the title before I had even published my story... This story was at least ten to fifteen chapters in before I finally came up with a title... All I'm trying to say is that I had a story before a title... Okay I'm done now... Read on😉
