Pearl casually walked along the beach, her feet bare to feel the sand underneath her. In the distance she saw Priyanka, Connies mother. They had been getting along pretty well lately, sometimes they would talk about how much they care about Steven and Connie. Sharing funny stories.

Am I allowed to look at her like that

Pearl couldn't help but admire how beautiful she was despite her age, around this time humans generally began to look frail, weak, but she, she did not. She supposed it was because Priyanka was a Doctor, she new how to take care of herself, keep healthy.

Could it be wrong when she's just so nice to look at

"Hey Priyanka" Pearl smiled greeting her.

"Hey Pearl, I just came to check on Connie before dark." Connie had come over this morning, Steven invited her to sleep over for the night. Priyanka had accepted, seeing as Steven has an open room, his guardians there to check on him unless anything happens.

"Would you like to sit with me on the beach for a bit?" Pearl asked motioning towards the open beach behind her. Priyanka nodded walking closer to the beach front, following Pearl.

And she smells like lemongrass and sleep
She tastes like apple juice and peach
You would find her in a polaroid picture
And she means everything to me

A small blue blush showing faintly on Pearls cheeks, seeing the light smile on the humans face as they walked over.

Sitting down Priyanka noticed nervousness in Pearls expression "you okay? You seem nervous about something" "oh, no no I'm fine, I'm okay, I'm just kinda cold"

I'd never tell
No I'd never say a word

"I thought gems didn't feel heat or cold" Priyanka pointed out laughing lightly. Causing Pearl to blush more. "We can if we choose to, sometimes it's nice to feel, sometimes even pain. Good pain though, I guess" Pearl huffed a bit smiling at her horrible explanation

And oh it aches
But it feels oddly good to hurt

Priyanka smiled with her, "You gems are really something you know that?" She looked into the gems Crystal blue eyes. "Yes well, I guess being away from your old home really changes how you view the world. Seems like just yesterday I was standing beside White Diamond as her own Pearl. Heh, here on earth isn't too bad though"

"Priyanka?" The gem started, turning to look out at the Horizon "How would you feel if someone who looked like a human female, and never actually aged, liked you..." Priyanka froze slightly a confused expression on her face "I... I don't know, I've never really found myself attracted to females of my kind. As for the age thing... I don't know how I'd feel being the only one to age, if I came to my death bed... They would have to live on with out me. I don't know if I want to put that much pressure on someone" she answered looking down at the sand beneath them.

and I'll be okay
Admiring from afar
Cause even when she's next to me
We could not be more far apart

Pearl smiled lightly "Yah, I don't think I'd be able to handle her death either..."

Cause she tastes like birthday cake and storytime and fall
But to her
I taste of nothing at all

Priyanka met Pearls gaze, "is there someone in particular that you're talking about?" "I guess so, but really don't think they would be keen on reciprocating, besides, in the past I was never one to like humans, in general. I didn't understand them. I don't even know if I do to this day"

A hand rested on Pearls shoulder, "Not even humans understand humans, even if your one who has studied Human anatomy and physiology for years. But if it makes you feel any better, you are one of a few people that trust... you mean a lot to me"
