Pain

That was all Peridot felt right now, her belly now slightly larger than it used to be. It didn't always hurt like this, only on days she worked herself too much.

Pearl didn't like to bother her during this time, setting up a small room for the two of them during the free time she had.

Yes, Gems didn't need sleep, but Peridot spent a lot of her time doing just that. She didn't exactly want to, she wanted to work on the drill, she wanted to help. But her body felt exhausted, occasionally she would pass out on the floor and Pearl would pick her up gently and carry her up to Stevens bed as he suggested.

"I don't like this" Peridot grumbled as the pain subsided to something tolerable.

Soft slender hands cupped her face, "it'll all be worth it, I promise." Pearl stopped and sighed, reality defeating perfection, "I knew I shouldn't have followed threw with it..." Closing her eyes she pulled her mate close as she laid down beside her.

"It's okay Pearl, I said it was okay, I'm just frustrated that I can't do anything... You'll help me with these little guys right?" Peridot gestured to her full belly that held the gemlings. Pearl smiled letting her fingers dance along her mates now rounded belly, "ofcorse, I am a part of them after all, to be completely honest I'm kind of proud they're my kin...".

Peridot smiled to herself, turning to face Pearl. Their gems touching with a soft clink.

A few Months Pass

Panic arose as Peridot screeched out in pain, Pearl rushing to her Mates side "Peridot are you okay?" She asked worriedly.

"I-I, I don't know, this is the worst it's been, it's like- Pearl, c-could you take me to the den?"

  Pearl realized what was going on, and With a light nod Pearl picked up Peridot from the couch bridle Style. The small gem gripping tightly onto Pearls lightly blue leotard, her breath being slightly heavy and her body shaking  from her attempts on keeping the pain down.

  Arriving Pearl laid Peridot down upon pile of blankets and pillows she made in the bathroom. "Just try and stay calm Peridot, I'm here with you, everything should go smoothly." Pearl tried calming the gem down as she lightly rubbed Peri's gem. "You'll need to phase away your garments"

Peridot nodded as she phased away her cloths, shivering slightly as skin met cold air.

It took awhile to coax out the little geodes, but they came out smoothly. Pearl has wrapped each in a blanket and placed them in between the two of them. Each geode was a swirl of Blue and Green, some spots leaving a light teal color were they blended.

Peridot phased her clothing back on as Pearl laid a blanket over all of them, cuddling into the warmth of both the geodes and her Mate. "Pearl?"

Pearl looked over at Peridot with kind eyes, one ice blue ones she had grown to love so much "yes Peridot?"

"I love you"

Pearl smiled and leaned over to kiss the gem lightly "I love you too, my dear"
