We all sat around Tony’s living room, chilling out. I sat, curled up against Steve, his arm wrapped around me absent-mindedly as he read the paper. Pepper and Tony were sitting opposite us, Pepper almost asleep in Tony’s arms as he read something on his tablet. Bruce was sat in an armchair to my right, also reading the paper. Thor and Jane were talking and laughing softly with Clint and Natasha in the kitchen. I smiled softly, at ease.

They made their way over towards the empty sofas, continuing their conversation.

‘... And out of nowhere, six bilgesnipe came thundering towards us like a stampede of stallions. And Sif stepped forward, taking them all down before we could even lift a finger. So, how could I not support her when she turned out to be one of the fiercest warriors that Asgard had ever known!’ he exclaimed, grinning. Jane smiled, peeking around Thor at Natasha and Clint as they all sat down.

‘It’s true. She’s like you Nat, actually. Beautiful, but you wouldn’t dare do anything to annoy her. She doesn’t act scary or anything like that, but you just... know.’ she explained, making Nat blush slightly. Clint rubbed her knee softly, grinning at her discomfort, which only made her blush harder.

As funny as it was to see Nat, who was normally so cool and confident, look so uncomfortable, I thought she might be glad if the topic was steered away from her. Sitting up slightly, I looked over to Thor, smiling as he watched Jane, love shining in his eyes. She caught him watching and grinned up at him, before kissing his cheek quickly. I grinned at them, before frowning, something that Thor had said, catching my attention.

‘Thor?’ I called, catching his attention. He turned to look at me, his eyes curious.

‘What exactly is a bilgesnipe?’ I asked, having being bothered by that for a while. It was something which Thor had a habit of bringing up in conversation, but never had explained. Thor frowned at me, momentarily confused.

‘You... Ah yes, you don’t have them here on Midgard. Am I correct?’ he asked, looking down at Jane, who nodded, smiling.

‘Nope, no bilgesnipe here.’ she confirmed, her eyes sparkling with amusement as she watched Thor straighten up, turning back to look at me.

‘They are huge, scaly, four-legged monsters. They are taller than your... Olimphants.’ he explained, before Jane corrected him quietly, grinning.
