HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAM!!!!!!
Enjoy!

Sam
I woke up on the morning of my birthday, to find that Steve wasn’t beside me, again. He had almost been avoiding me since I told him all about Mexico. I just hoped that I hadn’t changed his opinion of me. I know that it was stupid, but it was still a fear gnawing at my mind.
I got up, throwing on an oversized football jersey over my pyjamas, and shuffled groggily into the kitchen, and over to the coffee pot. I picked it up, to find a yellow sticky note stuck to the side. Across it was Steve’s neat, joined writing.
Morning! Look left! It said.
I frowned groggily. It was too early for games, but I looked left anyway. I saw a pink sticky note stuck to the side of the refrigerator. I ignored it for a minute, taking out a mug and pouring a cup of coffee. I walked over to the refrigerator and looked at the note stuck on it.
Turn around and find green! I sighed, taking the milk out of the refrigerator, adding some to my coffee, and putting it back before turning around, spying a green sticky note stuck on the wall opposite me. I frowned and walked over to it.
Go to the elevator and find your favourite colour! I stayed where I was, taking a sip of my coffee and looking across the room to the elevator.
‘Be lazy, or satisfy curiosity?’ I mused to myself, squinting over at the elevator. Today, I was not a morning person. I stayed there, like that for a while, drinking my coffee. Suddenly, Pepper jumped out from behind the couch, scaring the crap out of me.
‘Oh, just go to the damn elevator already!’ she called, sounding frustrated. I squinted over at her, spying the top of Tony’s head over the couch. I finished my coffee, leaving the mug on the counter.
‘I see you, Tony.’ I called out, and he popped his head up, smiling guiltily.
‘Off to the elevator you go!’ Pepper instructed, waving me away. I slowly walked over to the elevator, watching them carefully. Before I stepped inside, I caught a flash of black, up in the concrete rafters.
‘Clint! Nat! I see you too!’ I shouted at them. Nat squeaked, and Clint cried out as they both jumped and fell out of their hiding places, surprised that I had seen them. I shook my head, walking towards the elevator. On the button for the ninety-first floor, was a blue sticky note.
Meet you here. It said simply. I found a smile crawl its way onto my lips, and I pressed the button. Seconds later, the elevator stopped, and I stepped out, following sticky notes with arrows, leading outside, onto the balcony. A table was set up with pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausages, toast and orange juice, surrounded by cushions, with pink and white tiger lilies in a vase.
I walked out, following the last of the sticky notes, towards the table. I heard quick footsteps, but didn’t see anybody, until a pair of arms wrapped around my waist, and I couldn’t help but smile as Steve kissed my cheek.
‘I know you said not to do anything. But having missed it twice, how could I not?’ he told me quietly. I turned around, smiling at him.
‘Happy birthday, Sam.’ he said quietly, before kissing me softly. I smiled against his lips, and wrapped my arms around his neck. Maybe birthdays weren’t all bad.
