Remember Ezria

Chapter Four

I sat in my car redoing my make-up and trying to look like I didn't drop a single tear today. I got a text from a random number and I opened it.

"I know texting from my number is dangerous so I borrowed another phone. I think we should talk. Could you please come over?" -Ezra

I stared at the text for several minutes and I decided to go. I pulled up to his apartment and I walked up stairs and stood in front of the door deciding if I should knock.
"Aria? I heard you coming up the stairs. I didn't think you would come. Come inside."

"Sorry for the mess. Malcolm was here this morning."

"It's fine. What did you want to talk to me about?"

"The kiss. Did it mean anything to you? Did you feel anything."

"Is this the only thing you wanted to talk to me about?"

"Please, just answer the question."

"Yes, I felt something."

"It's killing me. Having to stay away from you. I would do anything to be with you. Just please stay for the night." He moved in closer and we were just 2 feet away.

"Ezra, this is hard for me already."

"Just one night. That's all I'm asking. Plus, I have to talk to you about school."

"My behavior. I know. I'm trying." I sat down on the couch playing with my nails looking down.

"I get why your acting like that. I'm talking about your grades. You still haven't turned in your old essay."

"Wow, I'll uh, I will turn it in soon."

"Actually you don't."

"What do you mean? Ezra no. You don't have to do this."

"Already handled."

"I thought we.. I thought you wanted to keep your lives separate."

"Just don't mention it to anyone."

"I can't let you do this."

"Well, it's too late."

"Thank you."

"It's nothing. It just won't happen again."

"Hey, I know you care about me alot and I feel the same way. If they weren't any complications with you and Maggie, I would be with you. Trust me. I still love you. It's just too hard."

"I still love you and I will always be here for you no matter what happens. I -" Ezra was interrupted by a knock at the door and when he opened it, it was Maggie.

"Maggie, what are you doing here?"

"I have to tell you something. But before i do, please don't be angry."

"Yeah sure what is it? Is it Malcolm is he okay?"

"Malcolm's fine. But-"

"But what, Maggie? Your scaring me."

"MALCOLM'S NOT YOURS."

"What?"

"I'm really sorry. I had a test done last week-"

"YOU NEED THIS FOR A WEEK AND YOU DIDN'T TELL ME?"

"Ezra, please."

"No, get out."

"I can explain it-"

"I SAID GET OUT."
