Chapter Thirteen

I walked into Ezra's classroom and I saw him talking to my dad.
"We will catch up later? How about a beer tonight?"
"That sounds great."
I faced the other way so my dad couldn't see me and the. I walked into Ezra's class.
"Hey, what was that?"
"Just your dad. I'm going to have some beer with him tonight but I'll be at my apartment at 9:00."
"No that's okay. I could go to Emily's. She needs me anyways since she doesn't have swimming anymore. I could maybe stop by after Emily's."
"How are you holding up? With everything that's going on."
"I'm good. It could be better. God, I just want a day with just you and me. But I'm good; thanks for asking."
"Are you sure? Cause every time your phone rings, you jump up. I might be wrong but I'll at least ask; is 'A' back?"
I hated lying to Ezra but if that protects him then I'm going to have to lie.
"No. 'A' is gone. I'll see you in English?"
"Yeah, sure."

Ezra's POV
I know Aria is keeping something from me, I just didn't know what. Maybe she's telling the truth. I want to believe that but I can't. I will find out what's happening to her; if its the last thing I'll do.
